1968, I was in Vietnam and had never heard of the Lovin Spoonful. A fella bought a reel to reel tape machine and had this album on one of the reels. I put on the headset and it started to play. It was like the music started coming from in my head and was coming out into my ears, absolutely fantastic. Of course all that tech is old now and listening to headphones is nothing new to the brain but The Lovin Spoonful will always be a great memory for me.

What an amazing description of the first time listening to music on headphones… many times, I have thought of and told others about the first time it happened for me, because it was so moving! To hear it described this way brings me right back, thank you so much!

Of all the brilliant old songs from the 60s and 70s this one hits me with a tidal wave of emotion and nostalgia more than just about all of them. Such a beautifully written/recorded song that perfectly captures the mood of the lyrics. Luv it.

Unknown quantities of spent human emotions seem to be involved in our song here, ushered in by the Donovan Leitch and Van Morrison eras.
