I saw this band about 10 years ago at Glastonbury on one of the big stages on the middle of the afternoon then trekked across the site to see their next show an hour or so later in a tent .... they are mesmerising and truly superb

I just love this band. Their first album was produced by them copying it onto CD's and dumpster diving for cereal boxes to fold album jackets out of. The guy plays a saw and whistles into 2 cellphones. They appear to be drinking absinthe. The guy that wrote this song left the band suddenly to go live in a yurt (where he still lives to this day). Everything about this band screams hipster but they just pull it off so organically it feels genuine.

I wouldn't exactly say 'hipster'. They're ex Brown U maniacs. Artists, visionaries, and a bit off kilter with a keen sense on aurality. Suggestion to just keep the hipster comment in your back pocket as it doesn't come close to being applicable here. Maybe for some, but not here. But yeah, I do love this band too. Just like you man

I've really wanted to know their meaning behind this song. I don't feel like it's a wife walking out, I feel like it's a mother leaving her child, and something happens to her. They maybe had no family, or friends to know to check on the kid? But then when the lyric says I hope you'll be there, it throws me off. But it does like a sad childhood song overall, beautifully performed

Can't help but be slightly annoyed at the people chuckling in the beginning. Seems kinda disrespectful.

Jester I seem to recall the ‘between the song banter’ was quite light hearted at that point of the show.
