Now I knew John played Short Beach in CT but had no idea he grew up in the area, very cool. I shot a HIO* way back in 2012 on the 5th hole there ... 103yds. Super windy day, hit 3/4 of a punchy 9iron. Wind pushed the ball 15-18ft left to right. Great round John Congrats!! Also ... I know you've got even better rounds coming in the future!!

I just found your channel recently and love watching you guys find hidden treasures. Then I was watching this video and heard you talk about Chris Drury and him being from your hometown and it blew me away. I grew up in Trumbull (now live in Newtown) and it was such a proud time to be from Trumbull when we won the Little League World Series. I remember there was a sign as you got on the 25 Connector stating we won the 89 LL World Series. The owners of a company I worked for were related to the coach of that team. I used to dabble in golf a little bit but my biggest connection to the sport was I worked at Tasha Knolls Golf Course for many years while in college. I was on the 9 year plan. Lol. Keep up the great videos. You look familiar but I’m quite a bit older than you so I’m not sure why I feel I have crossed paths with you🤨🤨. Scott

Oh Wow! I can't tell you how fantastic it was to see the course at Seaside again. We are now living in South Carolina, but for over 40 years we would vacation on the Oregon Coast and we always played that course, and found it to be a good challenge. Thanks Jon and Ash for bringing back such wonderful memories. I wonder if you swung by Gearhart Golf Links as you drove south. It was built in 1888, and has been restored to its links style and it might have been fun for you to explore. It has been a few years, but now we have to plan to go back.

This video made me so happy! My wife and I play this every year with my father in law when we go to Cannon Beach for vacation! Such a fun course. On hole 2 the giant tree over the green there’s a bald eagle nest and there’s always eagles sitting there

When you guys get to Windsor California off 101 go west to Gurneville, than just a little further west, a few miles to Northwoods golf course. You can play through redwoods on the sides of the fairways, about 2500 of them. We use or go there when our church had a retreat in the area. Now living in Martinsville Indiana. You’ll thank me, a once in a life time experience, and with the vibs I believe you will appreciate.

Boy, this brought back some memories. My wife and I played this course about six or seven years ago. I had seven pars, one birdie and one bogey. There's a really nice nine hole course in Nehalem and another in Newport. Not sure how far south you are going, but you guys are in for a real treat.

The Oregon coast is beautiful, my grandparents used to live in Waldport and I was fortunate enough to visit a couple time from Illinois. Enjoy that drive south along the 101, so many neat shops and scenic areas to enjoy the ocean. Thanks for the entertaining content.

Great golf, Jon. Further south along 101 is Salishan Lodge by Siletz Bay. backs up to a forest full of nature, great golf course. and the restaurant has (or at least had) a throwback Scottish vibe. South of that is Bandon Dunes, worth seeing even if you don’t want to pay the greens fees.

Great 9 holes! As for the grass on the greens....3 of the Municipal golf courses had the same grass! Some times if I got out the the course early enough, the greens were ok. It was in the afternoons, when I took "Golf" for my P.E. course 9 semesters in a row...you never could tell how the greens would roll! Sadly, the small course was sold to the city, ( the owner, & head pro is in his early 70's and it was just too much for him anymore ) and the city expanded the lakes on the course and turned it into a a huge Municipal park with a lot of places for the kids to play, and they stock the one big lake with catfish. You can buy a daily fishing license or a yearly one.

There are so many good mom and pop course on the coast. Dont know if "Garhart by the Sea" is still there, but it was a taste of Scotland while there in grad school. Little gem by Lincoln City

Been a sub for a long time. Its nice to see you guys enjoying the Great Northwest. Hwy 101 is one of the most beautiful drives in America. Hopefully you visited the Goonies house in Astoria. And everyone has to go to the Tillamook cheese factory. I also recommend Shelter Cove in Northern California. Black sand beach and a golf course in the middle of "town."

You guys are truly living the life. Should you find yourselves in Hawai'i we'd love to host you for a round at our club, Moanalua Golf Club. The oldest course in the Hawaiian islands. Your kind of course for sure. 9 holes, very local vibe. Super reasonable green fees. In addition, there are 45 golf courses here on O'ahu, most open to the public. Sadly, thrifting for clubs and equipment is not great here, although I have been able to put together a respectable visitor bag. Aloha!!

You made that look easy. If you're heading into California, I recommend Sharp Park in Pacifica. Definitely a poor man's Pebble Beach. And a very welcoming group of locals there.

Course suggestion for your CA leg, Northwoods Golf course in Monte Rio. About 90 miles North of SF in the Russian river valley, it’s a 9 holer designed by Alister Mackenzie. Literally golf church, amazing spot

There are 2 secrets to putting on poa, you were doing one of them Jon, hit them firmly. The second secret is playing in the morning right after they've been cut. They're perfect then! Nice playing!
