You are doing fantastic job. Two ideas for you to explore as you push forward that I would find most helpful is the pariah method for using the soda ash. I do all my stuff damp but sometimes let them dry out before dying. The soda ash fixative is needed at some point in the process so your post dye method of introducing the fixative intrigues me. And from a practical standpoint, would love to have you share your ideas on saturation issues. I still run into problems on think Geode folds and would love to learn more on how to avoid poor saturation. Peace to you and yours.

I dye and tie completely dry, and do use pariah method. Sometimes the shirts are just bunk. Or tied too tightly and no amount of dye or pariah will help. I’d say 9/10 don’t have saturation issues, but there’s always that one…

Hi I am new to seeing your work. I was doing tie dye a while ago when Steph started Belladonna dyes. I had to quit for over a year as I had to much going on with a death in the family and another family member lost his legs and I just did not have the time for my passions. When I got on the site and saw your work I was pretty blown away. You have done a great job with this video. Thankfully I had some prior experience with tie dye and I was hoping that I did not forget everything I had learned. I still have some of it and was familiar with the basics that you were showing. Your work is in my estimation exceptional and I can only imagine how hard it is to do a video and try to make sure that everyone who watches can grasp your techniques you are teaching. Thank you I have never used the fishing line nor the yoyettes you use as clamps. I have used them when I was a cosmetologist but that was a long while ago but I can see that they are a useful addition to the bag of tricks we must all have to complete whatever mission we are on with tie dye. I have other things that I value in doing my art which someday I hope is up to your level. Sheila Shultz Reno Nevada

Thank you so very much for taking the time to be helpful. I truly appreciate you! I'm not an artist and I'm very aware (absolutely a talent/gift combo) But I LOVE tie-dye. Super slow learner. I've only graduated from rubber bands to sinue and kite string the past 2 out of 15 years. Even though it's just for funsies, I'm proud of my noticeable personal progress & intend to continue! To be honest, KZbin taught me. I struggled to understand online diagrams prior to video tutorials. I'm thankful for EVERY person that has shared anything at all because they didn't have to and I'm sure it's not quick & simple to do. This is the first time I've left a comment on anything (apologizes for the lengh) Please make more 🙏 Maybe it's just human nature to be impatient, but I didn't skip anything at all in these. Almost like you can't be too thorough! Seriously, thank you so very much for sharing and helping ❤️ I'm for real about to practice.

I really enjoy them content you are sharing. Thank you! I'd be appreciative and certainly love to see more videos of the advanced concepts you referenced using to add detail to this design. It would be valuable to me if you includied the folding variations to achieve "good" vs "bad" saturation locations, as I'm not intuitively visualizing how that's accomplished. Again, thank you for the time and effort you've put into the videos. You weren't too talkative and your elaboration is essential if a beginner is following.
@LucidDyesАй бұрын
You’re very welcome, thank you for the kind words. And you will either have better saturation with the design above the star or below the star. The tightly folded areas will show more depending hold you and the star fold. If the sleeves are on top after you’ve folded the star section.. then the top half of the shirt has better saturation, if the long tail looking part which is the bottom half of the shirt is what’s on top after the star, that will have better saturation. Might be hard to explain. But when you’re flip flopping The pleats back and forth, at the end.. you’ll either have sleeves, or the tail. Hope that helps
