If they "both" leave that technically means they "ALL" left; there are no other team mates on his team. "All" is a general term used to sum up/combine a subject and/or group of 2+ individuals or items. Example 1: (singular) She ate the banana. Example 2: (Plural) She ate all the bananas. Example 3: (Possessive plural) She gave no fucks.
