I lived this life with an ex for 3 1/2 yrs. We toured the country selling our art & doing Shaman work. She was so amazing then something in her change one day. The next year & 1/2 was the most miserable period of my entire life. But the road was still an escape. I don’t miss her one bit. Only the freedom & liberation I felt as a nomad. If you’re out there living the life don’t take a single moment for granted. Especially if you’re out there with someone you love. It can end like this or in my case? Even worse at any moment.

When I was a little girl, I knew this boy who lived next door. He had cancer, and a few weeks before he died, I remember he was playing this song at a campfire with his family and some other neighbors, because we knew that he was going to pass. Now all these years later, I have met a guy and he kind of reminds me of this boy. So when we got to know each other more, I played this song for him. I like to believe that the little boy that I knew those years ago can live on through this song, with someone that I love today.

@@A2Z2REAL BIBLE calls us all to be real, sober minded souls, who live holy lives on earth. BIBLE calls nor expect nobody to be: - religious of any kind - monk - nun BIBLE expect us to turn our LACK OF KNOWLEDGE into KNOWLEDGE OF TRUTH (HOSEA 4:6) Each human life on earth: - repent - BORN AGAIN and GO AND SIN NO MORE - be baptised in HOLY SPIRIT /THE COMFORTER - LIVE HOLY = soul, after earthly death in HEAVEN. Easy logic, asks no degree in anything. Bible calls us to give out RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT, no to keep our mouth shut and support everything with blind eyes and deaf ears. See no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil - that old saying, it belongs to masons, am I right again? The vow of silence of theirs. I left my nurse manager job with the government. I sold my home and cars. I bought a motor home and hitched my Jeep Wrangler. My daughter and I traveled across the USA and even went to Europe. I didn’t work for 5 months. People thought that I was crazy. It was a beautiful experience. I loved it so much, that I worked as a travel nurse for 7 years. I moved every 13 weeks. This was way before cell phones and WiFi. It was a leap of faith. I’m older now and health keeps me closer to home. Don’t think about just do it. Life is too short.

Ha.... I’m living that. My fiancé chose to walk out and go back to her emotionally abusive parents. We we’re gonna run and live and dream. She had always wanted a tattoo, she’d never been on a road trip, she wanted to work with foster kids. Her parents are wealthy. I am not. They hated me for that. They hated me for encouraging her to step outside her comfort zone and chase dreams and adventure. We had planned that when we got married we wanted to put some distance between her family and she and I. To convince her to leave me. They told all her friends that I had raped her, but she was too ashamed to admit or talk about it. So her friends and family we’re all trying to get her to leave. I lost the respect and friendship of most of my peers over all of this. I had extended family dealing with the fallout of their character assassination. One week before the wedding, we found out she was pregnant. We we’re scared, but so excited. We had always wanted to have children. Her family detonated, they suggested she raise the child without me, they called the cops on me, they told her I had mental health issues, they called me family and begged them to convince me to leave her (which didn’t happen because my family knows that her family is psychotic) Finally the pressure became too much. She left without even a word. I got a text saying she was leaving the country to go visit family, I got a letter saying she miscarried (They might have convinced her to abort the baby but I don’t know) one month later I got an email saying it’s over, she loved me but I don’t respect her parents enough for us to work out. She said I’m a good man, and that she was so inspired and excited to dream with me. But her family hates me. And her family is what’s most important to her right now. She’s gone. I don’t know what to do. She was my family.

Watched the person i liked kiss someone else, and a year later happened again with a different person now that I've moved on. Life's funny like that, haha. I still love this song. I asked out both of those people that I really liked. Neither said yes, but both went well in terms of I'm great friends with both of them to this day. I lost my girlfriend last year and this was one of her favorite songs that she always made me listen to. I always come back and read comments everytime that I miss her and when I need a cry. I guess I can always come back to this place whenever to feel a sense of community with thoughts of life, whether it is love, loneliness, happiness, sadness, adventure, and grief from the same people who have the same reason as I do. Atleast I can tell that I'm not alone. If you're reading this I hope you're doing fine and that you can find the strength to fight everyday.

Could you imagine being the woman behind all this? Having millions of people hear your life story through these beautifully written songs. I wonder how they all connect though.. I know Ophelia, Angela, Cleopatra, and Sleep on the Floor are all about her but can't put them all together

ChanelDarkSide I don't think this song is the beginning necessarily. I think this is just her imagination as to what would've happened if she chased after him. Cause in Cleopatra, he obviously left and she didn't chase after him.

+IndieAir yeaa , but in Angela she is the one who left him behind , so.. I think this is not her imagination , she run away and marry him (sleep on the floor) , got pregnant and left him ( Angela ) and then regret but still had her son to make her happy ( cleopatra ). That is my theory :) but the beautifulness in this clips and wesley/the Lumineers musics is that exist a lot of ways to interpret them.. Maybe you re right or I m right ... The thing is, that doesn't really matter , the true is what the music make you fell deep inside and what that is the true meaning.

Everyone ones talking about the connection between the songs but the biggest message I received from this album is that you can make many choices in life and if you feel like making a different scary choice out of your comfort zone then just say screw it and run with it, it might be the choice of your lifetime Its 2:00 am I feel lost crying standing in the face of a huge decision and read this comment that said exactly what I needed to hear right now. Then I realized I wrote it 7 years ago. Follow your heart and don't let others opions get in the way, you get one life.

I remember one day 5 years ago I was napping, quite depressed, I was listening the songs youtube automatically played and then suddenly Sleep On The Floor came on. I remember waking up from my nap with the song on repeat in my head, so I looked in my history, and there it was. I watched the music video and felt a fire burning in my soul. That fire never left. Fastforward 5 years, here I am still playing this song on repeat and on every occassion. This is my life anthem and describes perfectly my need and burning to be set free and live, truly live my life to the fullest. I have a tattoo dedicated to this song, it reminds me that I am living, and I am finding the joy in the little things now. After 5 years, struggling with depression I am slowly healing and finding a spark I had lost. I am full of excitement, and honestly, this song has been the hope I had through these years. I saw them live last year, when sleep on the floor came on, I directly went silent and closed my eyes. I felt alive.

She always makes me watch and listen to this and other The Lumineer music videos and make different kinds of theories of the connection of the video. I can't believe that I'll be able to relate to this music video on how I want her and me to run away together. But I just wake up and realize she already passed away and I'm just a few meters away from her casket now. I LOVE YOU KYLA make sure to pack yourself a tooth brush dear, pack yourself a favorite blouse, take a withdrawal slip take all your savings out cause if we don't leave this town we might not make it out.

Alright, so, after watching Sleep on the Floor, Angela and Cleaopatra (in this order) a bunch of times, I think I finally understood the story! Sleep on the Floor - Her father dies. She is dating the guy with the glasses. During the funeral he tells her to leave with him ('"Cause if we don't leave this town we might never make it out"). Now, the part where she splits into two is very important to undestand the plot! Basically she never left with him... She stayed and they broke up. But she wishes she'd leave... So, the whole romantic and YOLO story from this video never truly happened. Angela - She is married to some other guy (not the guy in glasses from Sleep on the Floor) and she is also pregnant with his child. Now in this video, she leaves him. When she splits into two, the other part of her goes to bed again but that is not what happened. She really left him. Cleopatra - She is alone and her son shows up later (the one with whom she is eating a burguer and fries with) and she drops him off with his father (the one she left in Angela). When she divided into two, the other part of her goes inside the house like they were a happy family. But thats not what happens, she is alone and lives with regret for not leaving with the guy from Sleep on the Floor, but at the same time she is happy that she has a son she loves ("And the only gifts from my Lord were a birth and a divorce") Overall, its a sad but very real story about decisions. This is all based on a true story and this is how i believe things happened. I also think that everyone can create their own version of this story and how it ended. Amazing videos, for sure!

There are a few movies with similiar plots, Into the Wild is one, isn't a love story but I would dare is that is quite romantic actually, Paper Towns is another one not as good as Into the Wild but the ending was nice IMO, another one is The Motorcycle Diaries which has as well a kind of a more serious turn of events. There are certainly more movies but these are the ones that I have watched and can recommend.

We met 1983 at age 27 at a small club in Ann Arbor (Joe's Star Lounge, now gone... REM played there ). I had one failed 4 yr relationship, she had several. I told her very bad jokes. We saw lots of small movies, beat up the bed, and both worked at our jobs very hard. Did that for 5 years and I started to roam. We broke up. I tried two other women, but just a couple months later I came back and said... "lets give it another go". We did. Still worked very hard at our jobs... moved in together, finally after 10 yrs of dating and living I said... "lets get married" . We did, on a Sunday, Halloween, 1993 on stage at the Majestic Theater in Detroit where I had been one of their sound guys.. Now I'm 63, she is 64. We still go out to small clubs, to the NOLA Jazz and Heritage Fest, Ann Arbor Summer Fest. We pet the 2 cats and life is good. It can happen like that.

When I was 5 or 6, my family and I drove down to Florida to see my grandparents. I was sitting next to the window in the back of the van, and everyone was asleep except my dad who was driving. On the way down, we passed a couple in a truck, probably mid 20s. When we passed, they saw me in the back seat and were waving and smiling and put up peace signs . They looked so happy and I remember how much it made me smile...this video reminds me of them.... I wonder if they ever thought about that 5 year old they waved at? I hope they're both happy.

I was lonely for a while and I met someone who didn't talk to very many people and was often quite lonely herself. We began to talk and after nearly a month we told eachother how we felt. We are now extremely happy together. It just goes to show amazing things can happen because of bad situations.

This song reminds me of the first 7 years of my marriage. We road tripped, couch surfed, and camped continuously. It was a blast, and we got to know each other well, and we got to see almost the entire country. We even road tripped across Canada one summer. Having kiddos changes everything, and although I love having a family, this video makes me tear up. Those memories are precious, and I look forward to growing old with my wife and doing this again as old people. :)

The whole music video is based around a "what if?". You see her leave her body at the beginning and then at the end you see her lying on the floor where she originally started. This whole journey didn't happen because she let the opportunity go. This is sad.

@@kianobird6839 He didn't die. He gave her an ultimatum: unless she marries him and leaves the funeral of her father he will remains to be with her. She chose to stay at her father's funeral so he left her. After many years she regrets this choice and imagines what would have happened if she made a different choice back then. Listen to "Cleopatra" which tells this story: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3-YpGyElNWHi9U "I was Cleopatra, I was young and an actress When you knelt by my mattress, and asked for my hand But I was sad you asked it, as I laid in a black dress With my father in a casket, I had no plans, yeah And I left the footprints, the mud stained on the carpet And it hardened like my heart did when you left town But I must admit it, that I would marry you in an instant Damn your wife, I'd be your mistress just to have you around But I was late for this, late for that, late for the love of my life And when I die alone, when I die alone, when I die I'll be on time" This is what this song is really about. And it's quite sad to yearn for somebody who just leaves you in the darkest times of your life just because you can't decide right away.

Happy 7th Anniversary to "Sleep on The Floor!" This milestone marks seven years of resonating melodies and heartfelt lyrics that have woven themselves into the fabric of our memories. The significance of this song goes beyond its catchy tunes; it encapsulates a journey of love, resilience, and the courage to embrace the unknown. "Sleep on The Floor" has become a soundtrack for countless moments, serving as a companion through both the highs and lows of life. Its importance lies in its ability to evoke emotions, to transport us to distant landscapes, and to remind us that sometimes the most meaningful experiences come from stepping outside our comfort zones. As we celebrate seven years of this musical gem, we not only commemorate its artistic brilliance but also recognize the enduring impact it has had on the hearts of those who have found solace and inspiration within its verses. Here's to "Sleep on The Floor," a timeless anthem that continues to resonate and uplift us on our own journeys.
