Yes it's a weird thing...as a kid i remember hating scary stories or anything scary, i was kinda paranoid as in making sure that i never enter a dark room alone, looking under my bed every night before sleeping etc etc but at the same time i would force my older cousins to tell me scary stories, watch every horror movie and sorts of things.

I always think that the mystery and how the characters interact in their situation is the most compelling part of a horror story. Seeing the fight, flight, or freeze reaction, which is so alien to most modern day people take over someone's mind as they are helpless to fight whatever wants to get them sparks a morbid curiosity in me because they may end up dying at any moment and the freedom a horror plot gives means the resolution could very well be a "bad" ending where either the protagonist dies, or the plot horror thing isn't completely destroyed. I am more of a fan of things that aren't scary in a literal sense, but the prospect of those things existing are terrifying. I quick scenario I can give is an individual is on a moon base and can't in contact with earth, they then look out of their viewing window towards the rising earth as something catches their eyes and see a full on nuclear exchange with flashes of light coming from the surface presumably being nuclear explosions.

Real life has too many horrors in it. Just watch the nightly news. The classics I like to watch the most now are ones that make me laugh. Namely The Simpsons (esp. seasons 1-7), Family Guy, and South Park.

I don't see enough examples of analyzing horror from a lens that I feel I relate to more. I NEVER am scared by horror movies. I love horror movies but I am never scared by them. Sometimes I'll jump or be surprised from a horror game but I tend not to feel any real fear. I honestly just like the dark vibes horror creates. Death, decay, the act of hunting or being the hunted, it's *fun* for me. Perhaps it's a bit sadistic to say I derive pleasure in seeing other people *even if just in a movie* afraid, but honestly, I do, so long as it isn't traumatic or something terrible. In a way I like pretending I am the monster, I love frightening other people in games and what not. I don't really have any answers for why all this is but I just wanted to share it. I love horror because I feel it is a part of me, and I enjoy the spooky season and frights they give, even if I'm not the one who feels them.

"why do we love horrors?" no i'm not. i don't love horrors, but there's just something about it that keeps on making you coming back to them. and it's not love, but curiosity. like how can something that has no "visible form" to the naked eyes able to touch or move something? some of them also can be captured with thermal camera. are ghosts conscious of themselves? if so how can something that has no physical brain able to? because you see, some "spirits" just seems to be conscious of itself. like how they able to answer when being asked who their name was, etc and etc (there are plently of footage or compilations of this on the internet). of course i'm aware that some of them can be staged or is staged, but there are some that highly likely not. you can also argue that it's just our brain playing a trick on us, tricking us into thinking that there's some figury shadow or etc in our sight but i don't know, i experienced a lot myself on things that are inexplicable.

You can literally hallucinate objects and beings into existence because what's happening is you're tapping into that pure abstract creative potential of mind. That's exactly what you want. Of course it can be kind of freaky but a psychedelic is that times a thousand. See so again the point is not to achieve some blissful state or to see some cool colors or to travel to some new dimension you can do all those things. That's nice, that's fun. The point is the lessons the insights you get and the meta understanding of how this entire process works because as you're exploring all your different domains you're learning about your own mind. How the mind of God is generating reality and why it's generating it.

The surest way to piss off a human is to invalidate their suffering. Imagine telling someone that their rape is imaginary. Imagine telling someone that their trauma is imaginary. Imagine telling a parent that the death of their child is imaginary. Imagine telling an African-American that slavery is imaginary. Oh the horror, Lego! But please, stop playing stupid. As upsetting as that may be, it does not change the fact that those things are imaginary. "But Lego! How dare you tell me that my suffering is just some game I play!" Yeah, well... you play some very serious games. But just because a statement pisses you off does not make it untrue. Just because something hurts like a bitch does not make it true. And just because you're in a nightmare does not make it real. This isn't bad news, this is actually a doorway to salvation. All suffering is imaginary. This is completely unacceptable to the finite self. Because the finite self's modus operandi is the avoidance of suffering. Which means it has to take suffering as real. To invalidate the self's suffering is to invalidate the self's material reality. The realness of suffering is baked into the very core of how self constructs reality. This is not merely a psychological thing, it's a metaphysical thing. The point of spirituality is that at high enough levels of consciousness it allows you to see through the illusion of suffering and trauma. This is salvation. But don't go trying to tell a human that her suffering is imaginary. That will only make humans hate you. Because the finite self is incapable of loving Truth. If you could love Truth, you wouldn't suffer in the first place. The finite self would rather live in a self-constructed hell than surrender itself to Truth. Notice this about yourself: you are a suffering and drama addict, and you refuse to give it up because it is completely intertwined with your definitions of reality. It is this way because suffering keeps you alive. If you didn't care about suffering, you would not survive as a finite human self for very long. Suffering is the greatest illusion. All God has to do to fool someone into believing that something is real is make it extremely painful. Then 99.9999% of people will never question it. Humans are too biased and immature to accept this. They want their suffering validated. They want their illusions validated. This is the human condition. Humans are puppets pulled by emotional strings and they cry, kick, and scream like children at the suggestion of cutting those strings. Waking up requires growing up. Isn't it amazing how the greatest news you could possibly be told - that all your suffering and trauma is imaginary - is received by most humans as something horrible and insulting? Truth is way more serious than people are ready to handle, so usually its best to keep it to yourself. When someone comes crying to you about their misery, you give them comfort, not Truth. An important lesson in your spiritual journey will be learning to meet people where they're at, not where you're at. I've made this mistake many times.

@Mark Codewell God is a madman who sits on the shore, morphs into a flamingo, and flys off into the sunset without a care in the world.
@dmtdreamz77062 жыл бұрын
@Mark Codewell When you realize there is no difference between anything, you realize God is Equality. Love is the realization that everything equals everything. Those who are selfish would like to have God abandon those things which they hate without realizing that God is ontologically incapable of abandoning any of its creation, because God is creation itself and something had to create the thing you hate. God is literally incapable of abandoning any thing because it's identical to all things, and that the highest Love. How can one abandon himself? What madness do you ask of God? If you want to understand God, lay down your hatred for all things. Then you will see as God does. One who dares to reconnect with every aspect of oneself that one has demonized and abandoned, is God. When you see love in all things without qualification, you are God. And the extent to which you don't, you are not. Ta-daaaa! It's so fucking obvious. You are everything you hate. You're just too scared to accept it. But what would happen if you accepted it? What would happen if you stopped rejecting Truth? Consider this: If you are God, if God is love, if God is reality, if reality is truth, if you are untruthful, then you reject reality, then you cut yourself off from love, then you cut yourself off from yourself. But hey, all this is just some clever words on a page. Nothing practical ;)
