Does the lymphatic network acts like a fast route for immune cells to reach infected sites?
@gcliff82 Жыл бұрын
Hello Dr. Brown, The interesting thing is that this course title is "Lymphatic system physiology: NCLEX- RN". As a RN and CMT I was doing some research on lymphedema and liposuction fibrosis on my patients who have lipodema and who have gone plastic surgery and why there's significant problems in managing edema. I came across an article from Dr. Stanley Rockson, professor of cardiology Stanford Medicine at Stanford University, that he wrote in 2017. "It is disheartening to learn that the average American medical school graduate receives an exposure to the lymphatic curriculum for less than 30 minutes within a four-year medical education.” You're not alone. Lastly, thank you for the years of service you provided as a physician! Thank you! Kindly, Glenn

This is a terrific video and makes complete sense after reading the chapter on the lymphatic system in my Anatomy book! One thing I wanted to point out however is you could be a little more inclusive in your video. You automatically called the Dr. a "he" when "he" examines you. "He or she" would be a better example of inclusiveness. Thank you.

But what is rarely explained is what happened to the filtrate? The pathogens 🦠 which were dealt with in the lymph nodes? How are these removed from the body? It’s one think to kill these unwanted guests, but it’s quite another thing to remove (dispose of) their bodies. I want to know how are these are disposed of. I suspect the GI track or the UT…

In case of surgery for cancer, they usually resect the lymph nodes. How does the body respond once the surgery is done then?

Does the lymph system act in all parts of the body and fluid is lost from one side of the body can it travel to the other side of the body in the same area. The body tries to fight infections or bacteria in one side of the body, is this a mirroring affect of the infection i. the other side of the body.

@mariahfox9 жыл бұрын
Praneet Paidisetty yes, the adaptive immune system is divided into humoral (b cells) and cell mediated divisions(t-cells).
