^ Of course she does. The role is for a colatura soprano, the highest of all the soprano types. It is one of the hardest roles in the entire operatic/vocal repertory demanding great stamina and virtuosity from the singer.

if you are a five-year-old, yes, it is rather a pain to read subtitles. For myself, I would be happy to listen in German but I'm trying to introduce my young children to classical music and it is much easier for them to appreciate it if they can understand what is being said, so any English versions are a big plus, as far as I'm concerned.

wow I used to listen to the tape of this all the time when I was younger. The animation looks weird. Not what I had imagined it to look like. It fits though.

I'm already salty. I was looking forward to Tamino's first Aria and the Quintet in this version. The aria was skipped -sigh- and the quinted skipped to the end. Ya killin' me. lol Cool toon though.

Aside from the music and story, there's something also beautiful about this animation combined with everything else.

When I have children (which will be in a while; I'm WAY too young) I'll definitely show them this! I'm forever grateful for you posting up this animation of the Magic Flute. It's the reason I subscribed to your channel in the first place... and now I know what an extraordinary piano player you are, miss!!!! :)

I've been trying to figure out some of the lyrics, but still am a bit off, if anyone knows the true lyrics, it'd be spectacular! Hm, Hm, Hm: 5:48 O Prince, receive this gift - I bear, The Queen consigns it to your care. Whatever dangers may they send you This magic flute will now defend you. For when it plays, it sings so sweetly That evil ways are changed completely. Then men of lies- will sin no more (???) And hearts of ice - Will begin to thaw! Though it’s sad to leave such beauties, May I - say farewell to you? No true man can shark his duties That is not for you to do. To Sarastro we must send you, Papageno will attend you. Thank you very much, indeed! That’s the last thing I need! For I have heard this evil priest is Just as fierce as a beast! These magic bells we give to you! To me? Let’s have a look at them They will protect you on your mission. Can they be played without tuition? (??) Of course, they can, you foolish man! Magic Music! Mystic Powers! We’ll be around when danger pass (??) Fare thee well, we’ll meet again! So, farewell! Farewell to them! So, farewell! Farewell to them! We’ll meet again! We’ll meet again! We’ll meet again! We’ll meet again!

I would agree that the original version is best, since I really enjoy my mother tongue. I would also generally agree that you ought to know the original version, if nothing else to be aware that there are languages besides English and Spanish. I will also say, however, that as an abridged version I do care for the translations (changes) more than other renditions. I admit that what attracted me to this version was the artwork, but I also only saw this on a television programme years ago.

I saw all three parts of this. I have things to say. First off. The person in the black thing was a woman?! Second. I would like to see gifs and memes of these three videos for some reason. If only to mess with people. Third. I have no talent creating gifs and memes so I guess someone else might have to do it.

It seems a bit too rushed. I understand the brief but if you can't actually make it work without making it nonsensical then leave well alone and do something else. The adaption of Rhinegold I thought worked really well despite the excision of 4/5 of the music, This doesn't . Shame, because I like the idea and it looks and sounds nice.

well i think it was made for kids. and most of them can´t read. at least not very good in the beginning.and when children are able to gain a little bit interest in "the magic flute" and in opera in general, i think it´s a good way to do this. when they liked the story as a child they will watch the original one day when they´re grown up, i am sure ;))
