here is the idea. even if one can have a real note without a crease (it's perfectly possible) that crease makes it more beliable. you tend to keep this kind of note close to you until is delivered, and there's no need to worry about creases so it's easy to fold it to carry the note on a pocket. required? no. but it's a good advice to hide a fake.

Growing up, i never thought about folding the notes or any of those important letters....we usually keep it as neatly as possible in our bag in between the textbooks...i think it started when one of the teachers told us not to fold their handouts which require parent's signature....it's also very common for us to have the plastic file which we keep our papers in it to avoid them getting crumpled.

It turned out that it's not true. Frank Abagnale himself has said for years that the ghostwriter of the book made most of the stuff up but the issue is that Frank never elaborated on what's fake and what's real. It seems like he kept getting caught a lot and most of the things didn't happen. Still a good movie though and theoretically a lot of the stuff could have happened but didn't. As in the cons had a good chance of working back then but he didn't do them.

I’m always surprised to remember how old this movie is. I’ve gotten so used to how Leo looks today, I forget he was a handsome teen heart throb.
