ya lady are a freaking gorgeous illusive painter, by not only making your art hyper-realism (idk why i call that) but also genuinely diving viewer's confusion into thinking like this, like that, just about trying to figure out what were you drawing. I really admire this, you are a real true creative painter, an inking magician. +rep

Hi! What did you pour & layer the canvas with before dropping ink?
@k8marlowe Жыл бұрын
Incredibly beautiful! Reminds me of Japanese watercolor art. It is not an easy task, painting with diluted inks by pouring and tilting. You are exceptionally talented. Keep sharing!

Thank you, Kate 🤍 in fact, I have long made a choice in favor of thick acrylic, since ink does not give the result I am looking for. But, I am very pleased with people's words about my first works. I am really inspired by the Japanese approach to design and painting. Good luck to you ✨

Absolutely stunning painting, but as I sadly discovered, you have to be careful how much water you use with acrylic inks as they will peel off the canvas or paper if they are diluted too much. Just like acrylic paint, more than 30% dilution spreads the binder molecules in the ink apart too much & it won’t stick to the substrate properly. This can be fixed by using additional liquid Binder medium in the water/ink mix, or use staining calligraphy inks instead of acrylic inks.
@ronigiani2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your attention to detail and helpful observation, Allison 🤍 But I have not observed anything like this in my paintings. My first works were created in 2019 and none of them has deteriorated. Moreover, the coating does not layer, even if you swipe your finger over it 🤔 Of course, the particles will start to wear off if you rub hard. But this will happen with any acrylic work.
@davidmatzura4942 Жыл бұрын
This is only true if you use a non absorbent substrate, in this case and with many other water based mediums you will find that the paper becomes the binder for the pigment. Typically even at very high dilutions you will find fluid acrylics still entirely waterproof and bound to the paper. However if you were to use this on primed canvas or duralar and to some extent even over acrylic itself the binder ration problem would start to become relevant.

@@ronigiani Well-edited video--not too long, not too short; nicely paired music; the process and final result were cool; fresh, clean workspace. I can now say all of this about your other videos as well, this just happened to be the first one I watched. Also, there is an added element when artists are barefoot while working...and no, I don't have a foot fetish, lol. I love your intro as well; that font with the misty seascape is perfect.

Sure. Yes, it certainly does: the more water and less ink, the more transparent and less saturated the layers become. If you're interested, I've created lessons about drawing with ink: kzbin.info/aero/PLwWlBZ_jthDwXLHBayhTGgpUSRZf_PPcy If you have any more questions, please contact me 😉
