Yes, even all us sleep and meditation creators and our audiences petitioning KZbin wasn't enough to get them to stop putting ads at the end of our videos so the only solution seemed to be to make sure the videos can play all night so the end ad happens when the listener will be waking up, if they let the whole video play, but means listeners can also still set KZbin timer to stop playing at any point before that, so they can have just that week's story playing, or perhaps 3 hours of stories playing, or all night. It gives control back to the listener...

Probably not. Each 20-30 minute story like that takes about 30 hours to make and the Magical stories I did could take up to 60 hours to make, which is too long to spend on a single weekly story, especially with my channel getting about half the views it used to and less than a sixth of the new monthly subscribers and so I need time to be working on other things to try to make enough monthly income just to continue being able to make the sleep stories.

Unfortunately non rain versions don't get views so I have to post rain versions and have done this for over a year now, but for those who prefer it I do have a playlist of non rain stories that has voice only versions of almost all my stories. I did try to have a separate channel for voice only stories that I set up a couple of years ago, but very few people ever subscribed or listened to them, so about a year ago I stopped posting voice only stories to that channel and just stuck with focusing on what the majority of viewers want. Everything on Patreon is voice only and pretty much everything on Insight Timer and streaming and downloads services is voice only, but unfortunately on KZbin there just isn't the audience for voice only so I have the one playlist which gets updated as I add the voice only versions to streaming and downloads services when they file through to KZbin rather than ndividual new stories each week. I do. Every 3-4 months I have enough new stories to release a new album of stories. Once I have enough stories for an album, when I get the chance, I release them to streaming and downloads services. They are all also shared to Insight Timer and Patreon (plus all the additional Patreon exclusive stories) and occasionally other sleep stories apps license stories.

That is very annoying. I wish that KZbin would respect creators decisions. It seems stupid that they give creators the option to choose whether ads show during our videos, but if we choose not to have the ads they see this as a lost revenue opportunity and so test putting ads in the video to see the impact if the creator had put ads in the video. I've complained to KZbin multiple times over the last six years about this issue with KZbin eventually saying they run tests like this and obviously there is nothing the creator can do, we are using KZbin's platform and so they have all the control and would like everyone to subscribe to KZbin Premium if they don't want the ads. I think, with it seeming KZbin are placing ads in my videos more again nowadays that they have increased testing and within a year will probably announce that monetised creators will have all ads on by default, the only option we will have is that ads in videos will be auto placed, but creators can select to place the ads themselves. I would hope that if we place the ads, then KZbin will leave the video alone and not add more ads.

Buying premium doesn’t stop the ads. I caught them in middle of long one. They also used deceptive advertising practices disguisin g by putting Dan up but when you clicked to listen it was another creator. Cause i don’t know the difference!

@@reneeelizabeth302 the main perk they promote as the reason to sign up for premium is that it makes KZbin ad free for the user. If it doesn't do that, especially given how expensive it is, then I don't know what the point in premium would be. Abbie uses premium because she got sick and tired of the ads, and so she never seems to get ads now and says she feels it is way over priced but she couldn't handle going back to not having premium and getting ads every few minutes through every video.

@DanJonesHypnosis : Thanks, Dan, for repeatedly doing your utmost to raise this issue and to reason with the behemoth that is Y T. Seems unfortunately that this is like the meeting between David and Goliath, but where David is going in without the aid of a slingshot. The USP for their Premium service is, as you say, the promise of an ad-free experience - if this was under the jurisdiction of UK Consumer Law and Trading Standards, it could be challenged by reporting to the ASA - " ... the independent advertising regulator that ensures UK ads are legal, decent, honest, and truthful. The ASA monitors ads and takes action against those that are misleading, harmful, offensive, or irresponsible." Hope you're paying attention, Y T, because, for sure, this isn't a good look.
