My home is about 15KMs south from this temple. Every time we visit parents we make sure we pay visit to this temple. Also we do have kaavu at our home where we worship Nagaraja and Nagayakshi. There is a Murugan Temple just 2 KMs from this temple which is another beautiful temple. In addition There is a palace in Krishnapuram which houses the biggest wall painting of Gajendramoksham - a must visit place.

I am one of those lucky persons who had the opportunity to work as District Collector of Alappuzha (2002 - 2004) and I visited the temple on many occasions. It is a great place to visit and offer prayers. Thanks Sree Iyer for this valuable video.

It is not just a temple. It is a Nagaloka. I was so fortunate to meet the main veliyamma who unfortunately or fortunately for her is no more in this materialistic world. I literally talked to her and it was breathtaking. It was an experience that I can never forget. I have gone there multiple times after that too. ❤️🚩

Namaskaram 🙏 thank you for sharing your experience. Can you let us know somethings that veliyamma shared with you? (If it would be permissible)

Thank you for sharing the information on Mannarashala. I feel fortunate that I could visit the Nagaraja shrine two or three years while on a pilgrimage to Sabarimala in a group and on these occasions meet the Valia Amma and give our respects.The entire place exudes an aura of divinity.

@Sri Sir - I was fortunate to visit this temple once. Locals mentioned to me that if I a fortunate person would see a tiny golden colored serpant of the size of less than an inch, and this then leads to riches, and thereby to Kailvalyam. Brilliant place indeed. Fortunate was I. Thank you for the video.

I have visited the temple a few times and was fortunate to have the darshan of the Valliamma. Thank you, Shri Iyer, for highlighting the importance of the Mannarshala temple. My sasural is a couple of miles from this beautiful temple, which has an uniquely sublime and mystic energy vibrating there. Now leaving outside Kerala I miss my visits there.

If the second version of Parasurama history is true and authentic, alas we Brahmins are still suffering in the modern day Asura regimes, not knowing where to go or whom to seek for protection. In spite of several Avatars of Lords as Vaamana, Parasurama, Ayyappa, Aadi Sankara we are still waiting for Kalki to come to our rescue from the evil force around us.

Yes true . But I always believe in Karma. I’m sure this modern day Asuras sure will get it soon

The Nainathivu (Island) in (Yarzhpaanam) Jaffna, SriLanka, where the Nagapooshani Amman temple is situated and dedicated to Goddess Parvathi where she manifests as Nagapooshani Amman, was also expanded and built by Naga kings who inhabited and ruled this island. This island is also known as manipallavam. It is also one of the 54 shakthi peedams of the world where devi sathi's ankelt fell after Lord Vishnu's chakra cut, devi sathi's body. The Nagarkovil Nagathambiran temple in Nagarkovil situated in the point pedro district of Jaffna, SriLanka, too is built by the nagas. This Nagarkovil town has connections to Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu as many nagas from Nagapattinam had settled in this town of Nagarkovil in Jaffna.

Kerala looks naturally beautiful. Modern day buildings will ruin the natural beauty of that place. The illams or the palatial houses made in Kerala look beautiful. It was created with a distinct architecture. Even the Temples there look different.

Iyer ji, you should visit Vetticodu Nagaraja Temple in Alappuzha, The first Naga temple in Kerala, which was done Pranaprathishta by Lord Parashurama. The Parashurama's story directly refers to this Vetticodu Nagaraja temple and not Mannarashala.
@Nagarajan196516 күн бұрын
Abrupt end to a great subject. Atharvana veda talks about Somras and the side effect of any drug is there and Nagas are perhaps an outcome of that. I may be totally wrong but what else explains Parvathi as beautiful and fair whereas Kali as equally beautiful but dark in complexion. Perhaps on someother allied subject please touch upon this
@wokenessendedintheyear202516 күн бұрын
Malayalam is a mix of Sanskrit and Tamil. There are enough Sanskrit words in Malayalam. Malayalam was most probably formed during Lord Parashurama’s time. The Namboothiri Brahmins of Kerala still do the Old Vedic Ritual Agnihotra inside a Fire Altar made out of Bricks. They most probably showed up with Lord Parashurama when he came to the South. Even the Zoroastrians of Persia did their own Fire Rituals known as Yasna. We call it Yajna.

parashurama actually reclaimed land that was submerged due to the sons of sagara digging up land in a previous yuga or kalpa..........the ocean that sagara sons created which became land again is actually the sahara region plus arabian peninsula when he threw his axe from mahendragiri for several thousand kilometres west and it landed in sur[paraka] oman............this created seven lands or sapta konkana which covered most of north africa and arabia which he gifted to the vedic clans........however at some point in history the land lost its fertility and desertified again and people from there migrated to the west coast of india and spread across india with their myths and they reestablished themselves here..........until 1000 years ago many temples were still existing in middle east with these communities having cities around them and dominating the trading routes.........even so called parsees are of vedic origin linked to parashurama

I am a Hindu, but the entire story is total mythology.
