The Magicians is an American fantasy television series that airs on Syfy and is based on the novel of the same name by Lev Grossman. Quentin Coldwater enrolls at Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy to be trained as a magician, where he discovers that the magical world from his favorite childhood books is real and poses a danger to humanity. Meanwhile, the life of his childhood friend Julia is derailed when she is denied entry, and she searches for magic elsewhere.

I didn't get many things in season 1! Like how did they find Christopher Plover in the last episode? And why did that souce of all magic turned out to be the Christopher Plover's writing room in earth?

He was being held captive by the Beast with Victoria, the traveller that was chained up in Fillory (Penny found her). The source of all magic was not on earth, but in Fillory. The Beast (Martin Chadwick) made his base there and it formed Christopher Plover's writing room around it - the site of his worst trauma's, where he was abused, that he could never escape from. It was really quite tragic.

You really need to get out of your room more. I'm assuming the first "Wamon" you're referring to is Alice. She wasn't exactly chosen to save them all, it was just a given seeing as she was the smartest and best at magic out of all of them. This is shown from the very first episode... The second is Julia obviously, and she was raped by a god. I don't think she is "dumb as a box of frogs" because she tried to make a deal with the beast because he was the only person they knew of that had previously bested a god, and she wanted to kill Raynard. Go back to watching some hillbilly shit if that's what you get from watching this show...

In later seasons it's way more like Narnia than HP. It goes more into Fillary than it does Brakebills. The school is still important but everything goes around fillary

When Quentin gets involved in bisex orgy and cheats on his sweet girlfriend that 's when the series lost credibility and I stopped caring for any of the characters. It seems that Hollywood is on a mission to render gay sex, bisex, incest and who knows what else normal to their global audience but they forget the rest of the World is not a deeply immoral society like the one they live in. Worst of all including those elements into a story that doesn't require it is very bad screen writing and can only lose them audience. It seem like people with no storytelling understanding tell their writers what to include, no matter not it makes sense.

It's actually what happens in the book. It's part of Quentin's journey to becoming a more mature person and learning from his immaturity. In the books he loses focus of his privilege to learn Magic and be with Alice, and constantly goes out drinking and doing other things in "the scene" lifestyle with the two of them- leading to him having sex with the two of them. I won't spoil the tv series or the books for you, but him cheating on Alice plays a part in the plot of both; it's not just Hollywood over-sexualizing everything. That being said, I do get that the show does have a lot of extra sexualization, but that's just HBO in general, just look at West World and Game of Thrones :) Regardless of culture, "sex sells" but at least this show has relevance to it after the first season.

Honey, you are so wrong, this is the kind of show you either love it or hate this. This is a show where they are trying to show how realistic it could be if magic was real. This show has a dark sense of humor which you don't often see and honestly, if you are under 18 or a Christian or an innocent white knight then I advise you to not watch it if you can't handle it. This tv show had shown all kind of things which is one of the best parts of the show so please take your judgment somewhere else and watch a show like "friends" or harry potter, where they don't swear and have dark sense, is humor. Don't even try to call this show a bad one because honestly then you haven't even watched half of the things out there. How do you think the game of thrones got in the lead? by being innocent af? no, it's good writing you just can't seem to appreciate or understand it.
