The scenic, relaxing and breathtaking Aripo Heights, a naturally beautiful hideaway nestled in the Northern Range.
The trail is found on the right side of the road, two miles on the Aripo road from the eastern main road.
Unfortunately, parking along the start of the trail is not safe, as you can see the glass remains from vehicle break-in.
It may be safer to park along the road by the chicken farm, it’s an extra ten-minute walk but better safe than sorry.
The trail itself is a short steep decline, it may take you possible five minutes to reach the river.
On reaching the river you can make a left and you will come upon the waterfall.
The water is about ten feet high, with a massive pool below, estimated about thirty feet in depth.

This sort of tourism is long overdue!! If only our Ministry would recognize, maintain and preserve these spots for tourism, then there would be more than just Carnival to show them. Thank you Alan for thinking of doing this, for your advocacy against Pollution and showing the world how lovely and unique my country is!! I thoroughly enjoyed this one and your tips are noted! I messaged the minister of tourism. I had an interesting conversation with him. He told me. His portfolio. Is limited to just marketing. . I guess the forestry department.Is responsible for maintaining the tracks getting to these waterfalls. Maybe it’s time people starts to flood their emails or ministries!

There are so many beautiful places like this in Trinidad. But getting to them is not easy! That’s why canopies, and steps , trails. Should be Added! Not everyone wants to hike!down mountains in muddy tracks!

I followed your video today and went to the Basin. Your directions were excellent and your landmark identifiers. The hike was rather challenging and way longer than 8 minutes. Even though weather forecast was just passing clouds, it rained very heavily which made all the rocks and the climb back up very slippery. Had to walk on hands and legs to keep balanced. The rain came down heavy and poured and poured. It was more like the Aripo Black Basin than blue. It might have been a better experience had it not been for the heavy rain. We still tried to make the best of it, and sat in the smaller waterfalls.
