But Hürrem's personality add more to her beauty which basically made her more attractive. Mahidevran, on the other hand... Was very beautiful. Like, literally. But her personality made her ugly. Unlike Hürrem. Which basically means that even if she's beautiful she's not overall attractive especially to those who've known her personality.

@@angelinenabua6336 | beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i thought hurrem was drop-dead gorgeous with her red hair and bright eyes. her personality was rather obnoxious and chaotic, idk what you’re saying that her personality made her more attractive. instead, her personality makes her less attractive because she can get very unpleasant in the series. i love hurrem and her character is well-written in terms of complexity but just because i like her, i won’t deny that her personality wasn’t the best in the series. mahidevran, on their other hand, is also stunning (though not as much as hurrem but that’s just my opinion because i completely fell for hurrem’s bright eyes & bright hair) and her personality is pretty soft and even though she’s also annoying and obnoxious and unpleasant sometimes, her personality was way less chaotic than hurrem’s. i don’t think their personalities have anything to do looks. based on just looks purely, people’s opinions differ. along with their personalities, i think mahidevran is more pleasant but again, opinions differ. i understand why you like hurrem better (even i love her more) but personality wise, mahidevran is definitely more pleasant and tolerable imo.

I use to feel really bad for Mahidevran but once I watched the show again I realized she didn’t actually love Suleyman she was just obsessed with him. Hürrem was in love with him, she would get extremely upset if he so much as looked at another woman whereas Mahidevran would just be happy that he stopped paying attention Hürrem. She didn’t love the Sultan she just hated that he gave her more attention then her.

If Mustafa had got the throne - as it was "default" - and Mahidevran had been Valide Sultan, that would have meant the end of her and her children. At best, they would've been just thrown away from the palace, but most likely they would all have been murdered. I'm not saying she was an angel: she was clearly a manipulator, but there were different times, and as a mother, she did the best she could do to protect her family from her rival and her son. Her character was very controversial because of her political fights, but don't forget that she spent huge amounts of money on charity. She ordered to build hospitals, schools, baths and public kitchens to feed poor people, so she wasn't a devil either. As I said, I totally understand her acts. And if Mahidevran was so beloved and "ruled the hearts of people" why did those people let her die in poverty? Her remained servants were caught stealing from markets, because she couldn't pay the rent. She had no home for a long time until Selim helped her out with some money. I also didn't find sources in real history that specifically say that Mahidevran was so favored by people. She was an interesting character in the show, but personally I didn't like her at all. I accept if you did, but you seem like you're biased towards her, and all the things you're trying to say don't change the fact, that she was the loser of this game between her and Hürrem. Sorry 🤷‍♂️

I have nothing personal against Mustafa, he's kinda like a good guy, but even he started to feel rivalry against Mehmed, and hated him when he got Manisa as sanjak. He visited Mustafa to apologize - although it was not even his fault - but Mustafa was hurt and sent him away, and Mahidevran did NOTHING, EVER to moderate that rivalry between him and his siblings. Yeah, I agree, she raised Mustafa to always be strong, and disciplined, but beyond that her only goal was to kick Hürrem out of her position, and for reaching that, she would have done everything. Maybe Mustafa loved her brothers and Mihrimah, but Mahidevran didn't, and if she'd felt that they were in his way, she would have made Mustafa kill them. Hürrem knew that, she couldn't be sure if he wouldn't murder her family, that's why she had to bump off Mustafa. Speaking of Mahidevran again... she was also the one who planned to kill Mehmed, so what the hell are we even talking about?
