Ohhh shit I forgot how painful season 4 was. But omg the foreshadowing in this (leaving a gap for spoilers just in case) The "please stop finding me" 😭😭 thank fuck Jon didnt listen The "if not for me it wouldve been more" and the "Im not going to let it happen again" foreshadowing that hes doing all this to stop Peter from hurting people (Jon) - I remember being confused at a lot of Martin scenes because he was clearly being manipulated but also seemed so aware of it? But his lil speech in 158 totally explains this and this scene was such good foreshadowing to it. Also reminds me of Alex explaining his frustrations with Martin- "he'll set himself on fire just to keep people warm" oof so good and so pain. The parallels between this and Martin trying to get through to Jon in season 2 and 3 HURT. SO MUCH. What esp gets me is Jon right before the s3 finale delcaring that hes gonna stop being so paranoid and stop distancing himself from people and start trusting them again and we're like "yayy character development" but then everyone else stops trusting *him* and distances themselves from *him* and it's so TRAGIC Anyways, I hear the magnus archives is a podcast distributed by rusty quill

And then, after this, it’s only thanks to Martin placing and playing numerous tape recorders on and around the coffin that helped Jon come back. His connection to the rib was strong. To the eye and the tapes, stronger. But Martin having been in that room doing that saved him. Saved him ams Daisy.
