Isnt the Akan Ankobia simply a better musk? More cost effective, easier to build, and their AoE damage is brutal if you have a big mass

Well it depends. The akan is very cost efficient and better vs large groups of weak units because of their low base dmg and area of effect attack. However the Maigadis are a lot better vs few strong units and especially vs mercs because of their insane attack and merc multi. The later the game progresses the more akan struggle with range too because they are one pop and low range making them block each other. Since the Maigadi is essentially 2 units in one they can be microed much closer together. Overall the Maigadi production is heavily limited by your influence which Akans are not and thus it depends on what your eco can support
