I can't stand Muguang. He's useless as an emperor/discipline. He allowed his wife to create havoc/use their children to further her agenda. Instead of doing his job he chose to cover for her. He even stopped his son from exposing his wife. He should face the maximum judgment allowed for not doing his damn job.

When his son tried to kill the demon clan with the flower...and he was being interrogated by Bai Jue...his son was trying to tell the truth about his mother and Muguang chose to protect her over his son. Muguang knew all the evil things that she had done/he chose to ignore them. She played him over/over again because he was weak. He even said it himself..."He's indecisive" As a ruler you can't be indecisive. You have to be willing to make tough decisions. He was weak. He allowed himself to be manipulated by his wife. He even took the blame for her actions before he died. Wu Huan didn't want to gain honor when she joined the battle. It was a lie she told herself to justify her actions. Wu Huan was upset that Yuemi saw through her fake facade/told Shanggu to replace her. From the start Wu Huan wanted to change her fate/strengthen her status. Shanggu gave her a chance. When Shanggu left for the netherworld to train...Wu Huan took control and she was the most powerful in Pilgrimage Hall. She let that go to her head and when she heard that Shanggu was returning...she wasn't too happy. The maids were bragging about how big her birthday was going to be compared to Yuemi's but when Shanggu returned the focus was on Yuemi. She joined the battle to prove her worth because she thought she was going to be sent back once the queen of phoenix returned. If it was all about reclaiming her honor why did she kill the queen of phoenix who was living in seclusion? The queen was no threat to her because she didn't even want the position. She was a lowly phoenix when she was with her people but her status was elevated when Shanggu changed her. Even the phoenix clan had to bow down to her when they came to the god realm. She even tried to kill Feng because she was the rightful queen of the phoenix clan. She tried to stop the god realm from being reopened because she didn't want to give up her position. It was all about power for her..it was never about honor.
