I honestly never excepted too much of this game but I could see why people are let down by it. I love it but it could have been a bit better with some enemies outside of bobbies and doctors that you could easily take down even when they swarmed you.

I freaking loved the game. I agree about the filter wash, and more enemies would have been a nice touch too. I was pretty enamored with the whole graphical experience and story dynamics... that crazy part with the shopkeeper/butcher was nuts. So happy they came out with DLC's. It seems companies these days put out a game and only release DLC (if they're genuinely not just moneygrubbing) if the game was positively accepted; I could be wrong though. I don't understand why some folks were let down, but there's thousands of games out there and something for everyone. I got the big box edition with the mask on the stand, which was a pretty cool thing, though the alarm clock and sticker advertisements for Joy ended up being my favorites. I gave the mask away as a gift!

it was hinted in the start of the game Joy IS strong, so much so it makes you see things as you in your high state want to see them. for some reason through out the game the Joy effects aren't so strong and just brightens everything up and makes things vibrant and less dull, but I guess its intended to make you believe and see that you're living your best life all the time while in reality, you're in the worst position and on the verge of death.
