And she also didn’t fit in at all to the point that everyone was weirded out by her (I mean tbf she brought a TON of spiders to school, I’m pretty sure that’s something that would happen in one of my nightmares). Also as someone with ADHD, I can confirm that it’s hard to make friends, not just that but she was going though a lot of trauma (which I also relate to) and that can cause a person to act out in some ways and become pretty distant from everyone else. Only when entering a whole new world where all of her quirks were seen as normal and the only oddity about her was the fact that she’s human (which was something that she couldn’t control and it’s clear that it never really bothered her, at least bullying wise). Her sometimes self-destructive hero complex and innate charisma enabled her to make many friends and become something that she couldn’t back on earth. Also yes, I’d say she has a hero complex. Yet it’s a more so self destructive one. Thus it isn’t about ego and hubris, but rather responsibility and action. She always blames herself first and even to the point of unnecessary self sacrifice will help others. Her depression gets really bad and in season 3 we can see that she shuts down and even has suicidal ideation. TLDR: She isn’t oblivious, she’s traumatized
