I was an exchange student in 1983, when I got home I had the most difficult time trying to describe these mirrors! Unfortunately I didn't take a single photo of these mirrors. We have them in the US, but only in places like warehouses. I have never seen one on a public street.

But in Japan, mildew and rust deteriorate curved mirrors. Especially in the countryside, people rarely be able to confirm safety by them.
