this was considered the "golden era" for Steinway. So, that being said, today's Steinway pianos biggest competition are used Steinway pianos from this era. What a great video. be sure to watch The Making of a Steinway w/John Ratzenberger-Made In America.

A window into our not too distant past, when Americans made things, beautiful things. All the good folks in this video are dead now, and their offspring's offspring are more than likely either 1) on the dole or 2) pushing paper and "regulating" as public service employees, either local, state or federal. Maybe a teacher here or there, but again, not creating wealth in the private sector. Watch this video of what made America great, and lament its passing.

@ORUPRANKSTAZ LOL! If you think ANY Yamaha sounds better than ANY Steinway on it's worst day and condition, you either have tin ears or have never heard or played a Steinway. Any expert will tell you a Bechstein, Bosendorfer, Steinway, Fazioli, etc. are infinitely better than a Yamaha.
