RJ is the most iconic because of how much jin loves him! if he’s out in public and he sees RJ he’ll buy it. he brings him around and always sleeps with him at night (you’ll see in BV soon) and on the plane. and he even brings his mom and brother to the store to see the new RJ merch. he asked for a 2M tall RJ for his birthday this past december. he really loves RJ and alpacas. :)

jin bought a bunch of rj keychains for the staff to put on their bags and it’s become a running joke that you can find rj anywhere (since he’s always seen the background of other bts content like bangtan bombs). he’s made his movie debut in a korean film called “honest candidate” he’s been in 5 (or 6?) kdramas. he’s been on american news, korean news (multiple times, but as recently as yesterday). one army even brought an RJ plushie when she went to see bts on GMA and an RJ chant broke out where she held RJ up high and everyone started chanting for him🤣 it went viral on twitter. reporters started bringing rj to public places where bts is photographed to get jin to look at their cameras!

for the past YEAR i haven’t been able to get my hands on any RJ products! like it’s actually ridiculous. there was a limited edition hanbok collection about a month ago and RJ was sold out in 5 minutes. and months before, same thing with the christmas collection. and the halloween collection. i could never get RJ😭

When they started V's was definitely the most popular but personally as of late I think Jin's became even more so. everything of his sells out, and even resells are high priced. The standing doll you can barely find anywhere unless you wanna buy it on ebay for like 3x the price, whereas you can still find and buy V's pretty easily. I think Jin constantly having his character in everything he does increased the demand for it xD

Jessica agreed, I read an article the other day that RJ has outsold other characters including TATA although I’d say those 2 top the chart, maybe overtaking each other periodically :) When I was in Seoul last year RJ was definitely harder to find, TATA was everywhere and more recognisable due to the very vivid red colour :) RJ blends into the shelf LOL

my favourite is RJ :) seokjin is my bias as well so it just worked out that way but unfortunately he’s very difficult to get ahold of😭 always sold out. but RJ is quite literally a cultural phenomenon for a lack of better terms. he’s always everyone in kdramas and such.

Tata is my favorite. I like thay he is V's alterego. Tata is an alien just like how they call V in the past. He is a unique character not an animal. V already set his mind to it while others are still thinking what to draw. He never used a second page on drawing book. And the story of Tata, amazing. Love is created by effort not magic. Super true. His prediction came true. Here in the Philippines Tata is super expensive and rare. When i go to BT21 store. Very few is left for Tata merchandise. V's prediction came true. RJ (Jin's alpaca) is a seller too. I have RJ and Shooky (my bias wrecker). I am still to dream of having my Tata. Always sold out I am glad you open your world to BT21. Just wanted to explain the concept a little more! Basically, Line is a messaging app, and in Korea(as well as other Asian countries) its common for these apps to have characters that are used as emoticons for people to use as they text. These character have backstories and Bc they’re cute, end up having lot’s of merch. The business is actually quite smart haha, as people tend to like some characters more than others and want to buy items with their cute designs rather than just use them as emoji’s. Line(originally a Japanese company) collaborates with Korea’s most common messaging app, Kakoa (people don’t even rly use regular text) and has many super popular characters like Ryan(namjoon loves this character) and Brown. So, Line collaborated with BTS to create their own characters to use on the messaging app and make merchandise! Correct me if I’m wrong abt anything! Cuz I’ve been confused if they collaborate or not since Japan and Korea don’t have the best relationship
