I love that Christian Dior's 1950s "new look" silhouette still resonates in fashion today. It really is my favorite silhouette when I make 20th century doll dresses. So timeless and classy.... Caroline is a lovely lovely piece of art. (I will also try that candle trick for shear fraying fabrics..... what a genius time saver!)

This video was the one that gave me an ingenious idea 💡 I’m applying for college this year (I want to do fashion design) and of course a portfolio is required. I’m designing a collection and I wanted to be able to give them something more than just drawings (something physical that you can touch and take a closer look at) but I neither have the time nor the budget to sew the actual pieces (even if I did just a few). So when I watched this video I was like “OMG thats it!!! I’m just going to do them on dolls-scale! That way I won’t have problems with the fabric being too expensive and I can try a few different things without running out of money, fabric and time. It would also be amazing to showcase my design and experimentation process!” So if this works out and if you see this, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Eric oh well thank you for asking. Well not much is going on. Corona happened, applying to college this year was a nightmare, I wouldn’t have been able to attend classes anyway or even move (since I don’t live in England) so I “decided” to take a year off and apply for next September. I did still end up creating a collection and ended up seeing a few pieces but not on dolls scale since I kinda had time. Nevertheless, I purchased a half scale mannequin (not a doll but still quite small), which is super useful when drafting patterns and sewing mock ups. But yeah we’ll see how it goes in 2021

As a student of fashion design, I'm in my last year right now preparing for my graduation collection through online classes, and it's hella difficult 😭 My college is in another town (I have to take a flight to college), but I'm staying in my hometown cause it's safer from the corona. I literally have to go to buy fabrics and other materials, and the fitting, and then go back to my hometown, and I'll have to take another flight about less than a month from now for the submission😭
