can't believe Hugh Dancy and Mads acted on this together, only to meet again it the BRILLIANT "Hannibal" series.

+Patrick Chole I just found out about that. What a surprise it was :)
@Svennen3539 жыл бұрын
+Patrick Chole fun fact: Hugh actually recommended Mads for the role as hannibal because they had become such good friends on the king arthur set
@Bacbi8 жыл бұрын
+Simon Mässing sort of fuller mentioned mads and dancy started to semi campaign for him. nbc still had to be convinced. I think it fits because hannibal isn't suppose to be american but there was some trepidation from what I have heard. In as much as they weren't sure about his accent. Cause if you see us Scandinavians talk in pure free form interviews many of them have problems not talking with an accent. I think I have seen 2 maybe 3 people that can do it flawlessly. But as soon as their on a stage or with a camera they can give you whatever accents you want. Maybe I am just the one hearing it because I speak norwegian, swedish and can pull of poor danish, but whenever I see scandinavian actors just talk I immediately hear which country they are from without knowing in advance.

Mad at myself for letting this movies imdb rating keep me from watching for so many years. Just watched this for the first time a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Definitely underrated.

We are listening to Arthur Castus, commander of the Sarmatian knights. This was one epic movie!!!

Fascinating. King Arthur is a firm favourite. Would've liked to hear Ray Winstone contributing to the discussion. His character's lines were mostly hilarious, almost to the point of being anachronistic, but the injection of humour was a welcome respite in such a grim tale. Every time I see the movie, I wonder how Keira Knightley/Guinevere didn't manage to freeze to death!

This was a fun film. Nothing groundbreaking, but then again, it's not trying to be. It's just a great popcorn flick. It's like Pirates of the Caribbean set in Medieval England -- it carries that same jovial, swashbuckling energy. The fact that Keira Knightley is in both is either pure coincidence or it's because she's well-suited to these kinds of Jerry Bruckheimer-produced swashbuckling, adventure flicks.

1:18 the Celts were NOT a matriarchal society. They were more willing to give rights to women than other ancient civilisation. Celts had female warriors but so The Germans, The Slavs, The Scythians, and The Sassanids. Do not think Boudicca´s tribe was matriarchal because she led her nation to war. She did it because she was a wife of Prasutagus, the king of the Iceni, and after his death she was the only logical choice in leadership, because they never had time to pick a male leader due to Romans fucking their country up. She did this out of necessity. Celts also respected women as much as men, but they were not matriarchal society. There could be exceptions since The Celts were not a singular nation but a mosaic of tribes with their own culture, customs and values.
