Now, that is the best fan-made replica I had ever seen in my life. If I were fortunate to come across a 1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara YJ in good condition that someone wanted to sell at a fair reasonable price, I would definitely buy it, take it off of their hands and convert it into my very own film-accurate replica of the Jurassic Park jeep down to the last detail and replace the old radio with a CD player to play the Jurassic Park soundtrack and I would drive it to a Halloween costume party dressed up as a dinosaur handler and enter it in a car show.

@@SimplyMustGo You're welcome! I think the searchlights are a nice touch and are essential since the jeep that Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) drove of the Jurassic Park film had the searchlights. Plus, I would've went along with number 12 for my Jurassic Park jeep replica.

Since we’re in the topic of YJs, I just picked myself up a 1993 Jeep YJ. 4cylinder, 5 speed, manual. It’s so clean, and I’m really thinking about turning her (Dixie) slowly into a Jurassic Park YJ. If you have any tips on we’re I can search up we’re to buy some of the Jurassic parts the Jeep, that would be a big help. More towards the interior side of things.
@SimplyMustGo3 жыл бұрын
Interior is hard. You’ll have to search Facebook market place, eBay and Craigslist pretty hard. Also make contacts with junk yards and towing companies. If they haul one in from a wreck you might be able to get the interior that way.

Never even thought about the workaround for the tires. What tires did you end up going with instead of the actual BFGoodrich? Because especially with the lettering, they look so close to the classic KO1s compared to KO2s and 3s coming soon.

Although you repainted the vehicle, as far as the title and the other "paperwork" are concerned, the color remained the same, correct? In addition, was anything done to the engine, or did you leave it primarily alone, besides an oil change or something to that nature?

Yeah. I had the title before I painted it and nothing has changed about that. I did replace the engine shortly after I got it, I have a whole video on that. I’ve done a bunch of other random things, like new radio and wiring and stuff like that over time as well.

It really is going to depend on what all needs to be done, what parts you need and if anything mechanic needs to be done. Will also depend on if you do the JP18 lightbar and lights. Mine was around $10K-$12K including the Jeep

It’s hard to say. Because it all depends on your Jeep how accurate you want to go and if you already have a Sahara model or if you’ll need to track down seats and the wheels. Then there is the extras like the winch and if you want to do the light bar lights etc. just paint you could do yourself or it might cost you $4-6k lots of recourse on jpmotorpool.com

Hmm that Jeep in the picture at Universal Studios looks kind of weird. First, the 2 on the 12 is rounded, and the tires don't have the correct lettering on them.
@SimplyMustGo2 жыл бұрын
Yeah wrong tires for sure. After the movie they apparently put good years back on them. The original letters were actually magnets they could swap between vehicle during production so I’m guessing whoever did the restoration/ paint for putting it on display didn’t pay a huge about of attention to some of the details like that when getting it ready.

How much was the entire build? Seriously looking for a 92 yj and just a project I want to start in the new year.
@SimplyMustGo3 жыл бұрын
It’s really going to depend. My build was a little bit more involved since we did an engine replacement also. If you get a clean YJ as a starting point I would budget between 8-10K for the whole build. Maybe less if you can start with a clean Sahara. I had to get the correct seats and wheels for the Sahara model and that was an added expense.
