I will tell you Taylormade..this was truly refreshing to watch. I recently have been turned off to golf by the politics of You vs Me, LIV vs PGA, PLAYER vs PLAYER.. To the point that I haven't watch much golf in 2022 because of it. The fact that you put a video together about the hard working people, the blue collar people that put their heart into the project is refreshing. That is what makes me want to purchase a golf club, those people and the way they strive to make a great product is who will get me to buy! Nice Job.

I remember during my fitting back in February. When we got to the Driver stage I straight up asked him, "Stealth Driver..is it hype?" He responded with, "Yes, I haven't been able to fit one person in it yet." I went through the Mizuno, Calloway, Titleist, Cobra. I couldn't get the spin down to where he wanted it and he decided to finally try out the Stealth. Immediate results and I was hitting it 10-15 yards past all the other Drivers I had tried. I absolutely love this club. 2nd favorite in my bag besides my trusty Mizuno T22, 54 degree wedge.
@jakecowens56242 жыл бұрын
Exactly the same for me. I don't have one Taylormade club in my bag, went in with eyes for rogue st, cobra ldtx and tsi. Spin numbers for rogue were high 4000's even with LS model. Hit the Stealth longer and more consistent that all others. When it was put in my hand I actually said I don't want to try the Stealth. Everybody's swing is different and what works for some won't for others. Cobra came close second

@mike-mz6yz2 жыл бұрын
idk I think your wrong. I think that with USGA and PGA regulations we have reached a peak club performance. The limit isn't being set by technology but by the sport. So they make a new driver with a new tech, but it really doesnt do anything because the old tech was already being held back from its full potential.
@BuffaloNickel92 жыл бұрын
@@mike-mz6yz Mike, yes you're headed the correct direction! What you're referring is something called "coefficient of restitution". It basically references how "hot" the face is. What "hot" means is the speed at which a ball will come off the face when measured by a machine which basically shoots a golf ball at the club face of the driver. The USGA set a maximum speed which was allowed way back and around 2011 ish which means for the last 10 years no driver has been allowed to go over that certain speed. Technically it means all drivers these days are just as hot as each other. But, t's not necessarily true at all that every new driver is no better. We know that just by proof watching some people hit new drivers way better, more accurate, or a little further than the previous model. That is because manufacturers have now started doing other advancements to improve their driver's distance accuracy and forgiveness. Currently, the way manufacturers are doing that is mainly by two things. 1.) aerodynamics and lighter weight of the clubhead by using things like carbon fiber. the lighter you make the club head the faster the user can swing and better the club head speed. 2.) playing with weights here and there to increase something known as Moi or moment of inertia. the more MRI you have, the more stable the club head will be. This directly relates to how forgiving the club is! such as the most forgiving drivers I've ever hit by *FAR* is the ping g410 and G425 which have the best MOI out there.

This is a great club and they've done a great job... and while I realize the design approach is different I can't stand hearing that this idea is revolutionary and outside the box.... Yonex and Daiwa were both making full carbon heads 25+ years ago and they were some of the best of that Era. TMs idea here was not revolutionary or forward thinking but it has been executed beautifully. Not trying to take anything away from the club... great club... nor anything from the team and the work... they've done a bang up job... just don't like the marketing message and lack of acknowledgement to the past. Had they ever simply said something like 25 years ago some companies tried using carbon in driver heads etc... it would feel different to me. Regardless nice club guys.

Moving mass from the front of a car to the back doesn’t increase the mass of the overall car and certainly won’t make the car behave like a train at impact. There’s marketing but this is just terrible physics.

in cars not really, in golf clubs absolutely. when u put more weight in the back of the driver the moi increases and u get lower launch and higher spin=more forgivness. when u put more mass in the front of the driver the center of gravity is pushed fprwrds and u get lower spin and higher launch=long bomb driver

The goal for Taylormade is to try to reduce the size of the frame behind the face and the weight of the glue. So whilst the face itself is 20g+ lighter, they're only saving 4g from the front of the club. But revolutionary nonetheless. Watching this, you have to think logically that graphene will ultimately be the best face material as its stronger yet lighter again.

Anyone else side-eyeing all this carbon tech as a huge gimmick? They admit it here that they can't make the face any hotter but the goal of the carbon face is to distribute the weight around other parts of the club. So why didn't they talk about the frame/sole etc? Only speaking to a light club face and nothing about the rest of the club where that weight savings will be put to work is concentrating on the potatoes and forgetting about the meat.

@schapediddly2 жыл бұрын
These analogies are awful, do people really believe this stuff? The whole car train analogy makes absolutely no sense. You can make a lighter engine, then put the saved weight in the trunk, and all the sudden the car hits something harder. The total weight is the same. The drivers aren't all the sudden exponentially heavier because of a carbon face, and they can't be, because people have to be able to comfortably swing them. It's not all of the sudden a sledgehammer or a train. It's bs marketing, and my guess here is they are obsessed with putting carbon everywhere they can, because it's probably cheaper to produce than titanium.
