My grandmother said and my mother still says, "its Wedgewood", with reverence. Like the holy grail is in the China cabinet.

Modern plates and saucers, cups etc just don’t exude workmanship or superior quality, sure the might look good on a table, but could/would you have a display case with suchlike inside on show? Full dining sets or tea sets can be regularly found in charity shops and bought for pennies on the pound. I have seen them made into candle holders and small down lighter shades and suchlike. There’s so much that they can be transformed into,if the original use is no more required. Thanks for showing us this video footage, I really enjoyed watching this, thank you.

@@MsVanorak I appreciate your comment, and the sincerity with which I am sure you made it, but my comment was a reference to a British comedy called Keeping Up Appearances. It was just a joke.

2:33 Boss: For decades the top barrel’s china suffered cracks, breaks, and outright destruction! We’ve enlisted the finest minds to enquire and dissect what is this supernatural occurrence that leaves our magnificent china into mere dust? Shalt we ever know?! I declare this, Thee Wedgwood Curse! Landscaper: Sir, excuse me ☝🏻 sir. Boss: What?! Damnit man I’m busy. Just trim the hedges, can’t you see I have the finest bloody minds at work here! I have a curse to solve!

Those rejected Wedgwood plates that are cavalierly destroyed would be worth more than the perfect ones, just like a misstruck coin or errant postal stamp
