There’s always this expectation that bands that are attributed to the prog scene must have very pretentious lyrics about very complex things and with a very luxurious vocabulary, and VOLA has *some* of that when it needs to, but there’s a pure simplicity in their lyrics that just makes the songs so relatable. Their themes and meanings are not too evident, but not too abstract either, you get lost in them but you don’t lose yourself. Bless this band forever.

Reminds me, in that way, of Katatonia. Actually there are several similarities besides that... The melancholiness-yet-not-alone-ness, the contrast b/t heaviness and floaty atmosphere, the layered, very well done synth lines.... They should tour together again.

VOLA is the first band I've listened to where each album overflows with vibes. Any time I'm stressing out about anything, my go-to is 24 Light-Years, and I immediately chill out, and I can't appreciate that enough. Super happy to be a Volateer 🤘

This four part documentary could easily become a bonus bluray disc as part of physical release of "Witness" Deluxe Edition. When watched fully, in one go, you'll get to appreciate the quality of the documentary and direction even more than before and the same goes for the band. You'll love VOLA more. I certainly do. I just knew Porcupine Tree was going to be the example at 2:16 and it filled my heart with joy. Vola appeals lyrically to me in a way that no other band ever has. Unique and evocative writing. Meticulous and inspiring. I fell in love with "Future Bird" particularly because of its gripping sadness.

What is there to say but VOLA is, in my mind, at the top of their game. I saw VOLA at Lille Vega in Copenhagen and it was absolutely amazing. You guys are incredidble. The lyrics, the rich sound, the overall production of Witness is one of these one-in-a-million albums. I have listened to all VOLA's albums and I love them all. Keep on making great music
