Wow, what an incredible process. I'm watching it and yet I still can't understand how those patterned designs get woven into the fabric. All that hand working seems well underappreciated. You people produce the most beautiful results. Cheers to all your hard work it's lovely.

I've been going crazy buying Indian saree fabric. I am glad I found this video because I now understand how much work goes into the more expensive pieces. It is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Indian saree fabric has a vast ocean of varieties. It is an entire sub-continent of various weaves. Each distinctive state has its own weaves. Please look up the correct weave from the respective region before you purchase. Many imitations are being sold as handloom. Exercise caution during purchase. Thank you for appreciating indian textiles.

These sarees are made in many centers in Andrapradesh. Dont be misled by the name of the video, they are not Banaras. Banaras sarees are made in Varanasi. The basic principle of weaving remains same, like you saw a plane weave saree with a border and pallu or the zari design on a saree. The zari design is made with this attachment to the loom, called a jacquard, which can make complicated designs on border , pallu, part of saree or all over the saree. These gifted artisans are experts in making the yarn ready, dye the yarn and weave it and finally finish the saree so that it looks good on the store counter and feels nice. There are various types of sarees ( thousands of them ) made in various parts of India and depending on the area the sarees are named as 'Banarasi', 'Kanjeevaram' ( made in Kanchipuram of Tamilnadu, ) Oria, Mysore silk, or by the type of saree like Batic, Ikat, Chikan, Monkalmuru, etc. Such a wonderful clothing from our beloved India

These are PEDANA handloom cotton saree from ANDHRA PRADESH. Pedana is in Andhra Pradesh, SOUTH India. The weavers are speaking their native dialect, TELUGU. (CERTAINLY NOT Banarasi. Banarasis are made in Varanasi, North India. The person who has labelled the wrong name for this video is a real twat. An idiot for misleading viewers with the wrong information.) I think the purple saree is a Venkatagiri design and towards the end is the red saree with an Ikkat pallu. Both were handwoven by the weavers in Pedana district, Andhra. I hope someone from Pedana could shed some light about this details in the video.
