Kerala is a best example of constitution freedom and expression state they can write anything any issues and also provide very much content stories... hero oriented subject were not allowed only focus subjects...producers are almost actors so they can easily construct flim. Comparatively a lot of actors available compared to another flim industry......

April 11 was a fantastic day ..3 malayalam movies was released and all 3 is superhit (aavesham,varshangalkk shesham and jai ganesh) .. and everywhere housefull shows.. in my experience it was first time im seeing like this..all i can say is may this is the beginning of firework ..more will come..this is the golden era 🎉🎉🎉

Malayalam movies have always given quality content, right from the very early 1980s. It's only now since the rise of the OTT, the general Indian public have taken notice. However, Malayalam film did go to another level around early 2010s with new filmmakers, subject matters and incorporating new technologies in filmmaking. In terms of content though late 1980s- early 90s was the real "golden" period of Malayalam cinema with some even becoming part of the pop culture. Many new films reference films from that decade as a homage (non-Malayalis won't be able to notice this). Varshangalkku Sesham is a homage to that period (late 70s-80s) with numerous cross references to classic films and loosely based on Vineeth and Dhyan Sreenivasan's dad, the great script writer and filmmaker, Sreenivasan and the megastar Mohanlal.

Yes there is in reality. Movies made in Hindi are Bollywood or Hindi films and movies made in Malayalam are Malayalam cinema. If Malayalam cinema was not recognised its a big loss for Kerala, not for other states.

Mere hisabse malayalam movie viewers are more cinema literate than others. Aap Aattam movie dekna. It was a moderate succes in malayalam. If its a hindi movie it will not earn 50 lakh. Abhi bhi Aap jaise cinefiles and cenema enthusiasts watching malayalam movies. Bramayugam was dubbed in all 5 languages but no distributers yook it. Its a black& white movie with similer vibe to Thumbad. Aap ko patha hai na thumbad collected only 6 cr. Mera matlab hai ki sadharan log abhi bhi ise movie nahi dekte. Aap ka premalu review deka. The charactors looks normal people and looks their age. In malayalam atleast 20-30 young actors who are below 25 years. The collage pass out from premalu or the college students from Aavesham looks their age. They are wearing uniform(suit) but they are not "students of the year"
