This is one of your best ever! Taubmann really knows how to build a mall. One thing about Short Hills is it's constantly evolving and changing. Like when Saks FIfth Avenue left they wanted tenants who could draw in people with many interests. The Indigo Book Store via Canadia I believe is the first in the US. Good Call. So many wonderful elements in Short HIlls from the Oval fountain to the animated designs on the elevators to marble and carpeting and very light colors and different designs everywhere. And my Nordstroms. I call Short Hills MY MALL because I dream one day of winning the lottery and walking thru the mall like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman going on a shopping spree. I've shopped at Nordstroms and picked up wedding gifts at Crate and Barrel. I tend to dress up going to Short Hills waiting to be asked for my credit score and copy of my credit card! All I ask is WHY can't all malls up the game of Short HIlls? (regrettibly the mall considered "my mall" is Newport Center, Jersey City another bland, cookie cutter Simon Mall. BLEH) Thanks for doing this video. Your soundtrack would fit in perfectly at Short HIlls.

I remember going there in 1985 after a trip to Elizabeth to see my great aunt Mary. I only remember walking down the stairs across from Bambergers (Macy's) to go back to the parking lot clutching my gift, a pink packet friendship pin kit.

I always see these beautiful Taubman malls and get a little bummed out they never built one here in Metro Atlanta. I think either Perimeter or Cumberland malls would've made a beautiful Taubman center, especially if it had a Rich's with the "wavy glass" mall entrance in its center court.

Because they're in wealthy areas and the designer tenets pay top dollar for rent. But also, people will often go to a physical luxury store for the experience. Sometimes you're treated well, you get champagne etc. If you look at a list of the best performing malls in the US, they're almost entirely luxury or mixed use.

The interior looks a lot like Westfarms Mall in West Hartford/Farmington, Connecticut. I wonder if both of these malls were designed/built by the same company.

The Mall at Short Hills is much better than the Livingston Mall. If Macy’s needs to downsize, they should close their Livingston Mall location and keep their Short Hills location open since they are no more than 5 miles apart from each other and Short Hills is the better mall.

I don’t know how much longer Livingston Mall will last because they have already lost both Lord & Taylor and Sears. Macy’s already has a store at the Livingston Mall but they have another location at the Mall at Short Hills which is within 5 miles. Soon you may no choice but to go to either the Mall at Short Hills or the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne.

There is a book store. Indigo is on one level of the former Saks Fifth Avenue. It is on the film about three quarters in. Believe this is the first US location for Indigo which is based in Canadia. An excellent addition to Short HIlls.
