40:00 your production island and your research islands Power are not connected. Thats the reason the research island has not enough power whilst the production island has way to much power. 41:00 ok you have seen it yourself Also at 40:00 have you set-up 2 furnaces to create graphite with an inserter as output each but at the container you used only one inserter to grab the items from the belt. Means the other two outputs more than the container input could handle. you should have built 2 inputs😅

I liked putting the storage boxes down after each step of the processes that way I had a buffer built up of items (raw and refined) to be able to grab if needed or to keep a production line supplied as I rebuilt or moved things around.

the way i understood the electromagnetic signal is that if your energy consumption reaches a certain level they will treat you as a threat. it makes sense since industrialization requires power and energy (usage) level can determine how much progress you've made (it doesn't account for wasteful usage or inefficiency though). what you thought of might be more correct. the answer is YES. i would watch it but it wouldn't be in a single sitting. youtube does a good enough job keeping your place where you left off previously.

you have 3 miners on that one patch of iron but only 2 are connected. you placed the second one down for the rings but i think you may have ran out of belts (as one always does), so it was just left there. this is one of those games that a built in note pad can be useful.

If you have guns in clumps, or in later stages in a double line, set half/the rear line to ground-low, air-high.. much more efficient.

the automatic bridging of belts isn't new but it was added in one of the midgame updates. I think aroudn the time proliferators where added? Also sorters can normaly reach 3 spaces but in a few spots of the planet the alingment of the grid is such that they can only reach 2. if that is a problem shift the construction a bit.

There is apparently a way to force-build a specific building (when green). I don't recall precisely how but i think it was just clicking on it. (I saw this in another video but haven't tried it myself yet.)

Yeah, you have to hold click and it takes several seconds. Very slow compared to Factorio, which is an instant plop

Technically you can tell the direction of sorters, even when powered down. The "plug" of sorters is always the source to take from. So if the plug is on the machine, it'll pull from it, and same if the plug is on the belt.

I'm not sure what you mean. When I am looking at the pairs of sorters for a smelting line, both sorters have the little "stand" at the end. Both have a little "box" hanging from the top (that transports the material). There's not "plug" that is different on either one of them.

I think that is also why he called it a plug. And that ring is always on the side the sorter takes from. But they should still do something to make the direction more easily visible.

@@sorrowschismI don't really like the look of them on top of splitters. That, plus a hat looks like some Dr. Seuss version of a factory. I tend to use a box on the side instead. That also allows me more control over whe amount of stuff that is stored.

I have no insider information. You might google the subject or ask on their discord. TBH, I wouldn't play it on copnsole. Factorio on console was soooooooo slow and horrible with the controller, and I think DSP would be the same.

I feel so stupid. I have up to red science but I can’t find enough ore to make a mall. Should I just start over? I have only made one assembler making belts. Nothing else is really being produced (other than plastic and sulfuric acid). I’ve been handcrafting everything else. My ADHD makes it so everything is everywhere.

I would probably restart and do max ore settings, especially if it's your first game. You gained a lot of experience, now you can put that to good use in a new run!
