That’s because it’s always been cold, since 1945. The Soviet Union might’ve been dissolved in 1991 but years since we’ve been engaged in different proxy conflicts indirectly with its successor with the only known direct encounter happening at the battle of khasham. The media might’ve stopped making everyone fear for their lives but we’re still one bad geopolitical decision away from it turning hot

In all seriousness, this song really feels like such a beautiful mixture of nostalgia, melancholy, hope and despair all at once! It’s simultaneously hopeful, and hopeless but still with a faint light at the end of the tunnel that represents almost any current situation! It’s genuinely haunting and thought provoking and like a lot of great songs, incredibly relevant no matter what time/era/decade/ whatever it is! In this case, with all the stuff going on in both entertainment and tech, it really feels like this song resonates with the atmosphere of all that stuff! Great job overall. Clear lyrics, good spacing and timing, and a readable font style and size. One thing, though, the line is "the preacher lights the coal", not "likes the cold". In other words, he puts coal into the coal-burning heater because he knows this guy is gonna stay in the church awhile to get warm. Back in the old days people burnt coal in furnaces for heat.
@Deuterium115 Жыл бұрын

@edg2773Ай бұрын
@@bavaria_12 The Mamas & Papas aren't even sure what it should be. Mama Cass sang it as "lights the coals" in live performances and the recordings mostly have "likes the cold". Either wording works for me. I may be influenced from memories of the coal furnace in my grandparents house in Detroit. They burned coal until the mid-60s and I got to shovel some in when I was a kid.
