Why al adirsi has put south at the top?

If im not mistaken, astronauts who went into space saw the earth with south up as well. I do know that the current map was commissioned by the pope that favours Europe to be more central to the world for geopolitical reasons

I’ve seen the map but one thing that astonishes me is that Iraq is there and was still called Iraq (العراق), but the word Iraq is a new British invention in 1921 when Mesopotamia became Iraq
