I bought this "The Pioneers Album" when I was a 16 year old from a record bar in the sunny town of Bunderberg, I'm 53 now and I still love it. and all the other marvellous poems put to music on it.

Wallace and Matilda have managed to capture the passion of AB like nothing before or since. I know they have spent 30 years or so teaching kids the stories of AB and the country is better for it. To remember a poem, all I have to do is conjure up the rhythm of the boys and away I go.

Thanks, Wallis and Matilda. You are broadening my education by a long country mile. Never heard of you last week, though I've long been a fan of Banjo Paterson. Now I can't get enough of you! "Go raibh maith agaibha chairde" which is Irish for "good on yer, mates!"

I live in a town called Ironbank, near Adelaide... One of the most common comments I get about it (aside from "where on earth's Ironbank??") is "Isn't that where that man's from in that poem?" Ah, that would be a no. The man's from IronbaRk. I am from IronbaNk. I don't particularly want to be remembered by an unkempt ruffian... ... However, as all of Banjo Patterson's works, very good. Not my favourite, but that's probably just because I'm from Ironbank.

I love the poem and this song for it .. However, 'his dexter eyelid' is the right eye NOT the left or sinister side indicated by the barber in this clip.

What an abysmal aberration of Banjo's great poem. I thought what you did to Clancy of the Overflow was bad enough, but this is truly dreadful.

I'll respectfully disagree, this is brilliant. Upbeat, as close to hard rock as an AB Paterson song ever got. This is fun, and makes the whole thing even funnier. Terrible acting - just what the doctor ordered. I reckon Banjo would love it!
