Huge front teeth that stick out at weird angles and have brown decay on them. But I loved him. And I found him attractive despite alllll that. Then I began to put on a tiny bit of weight. And we got married. And our sex life ended. That was 13 yrs ago. He has grown into his arms, legs, ears, and nose. And I think his teeth are cute. 😂 His lips are perfect for kissing... But he hasn't kissed me in years. And only a few times since marriage. We've had sex less than 10 times in 13 yrs. He has told me he's just not attracted to me. All bc I'm not a size zero or age 25 anymore. So he wanted me when I was the hot one... but now he doesn't want me bc he thinks he's better I guess? He's tall and skinny. Has a good job. 'Super gorgeous'?! No way. At most, with good make-up and lighting, Mindy would rate a 6. She has skeletal facial features and way too many moles to be considered 'super gorgeous'. Growing up in abusive homes will create abusers more often than not. Its really sad but sympathy toward bad childhoods will get you emotionally destroyed or even literally killed.
@n.t.495 Жыл бұрын
@@ChristinaFromKZbin, I agree entirely. It's possible to be sympathetic and hold people accountable for their actions. It's a context, not an excuse.
@SnowsStorm1 Жыл бұрын
While I wholeheartedly agree with the OP and thought it was quite an interesting observation, I thoroughly disagree with the response. As someone who grew up in an abusive home I would argue that the experience tends to produce extremes, that the person either repeats the experience or they go in the exact opposite direction and become one of the kindest people you would ever want to meet. Case in point: ME lol. (And ironically I would say that the same applies to psychiatrist too.) I think it's a question of whether they recognized how unhealthy and fucked up their situation was, how much they cared about it and how brave they were capable of being, and whether they did the work. Do we still have the occasional bad impulse or hear what I would call the messed up inner dialogue in their about how a situation is playing out? Yeah and I could give an example if you wanted it, but in the interest of some sort of brevity(I know,too late) it may take us a lifetime of trying to erase the damage, but in doing so those scars often become your greatest strength. a narc always instinctively knows what makes a person tick and what matters to someone so they know just how to make them hurt and as as someone raised by a narc I can tell you I often know all those same things, but because I have done the work that knowledge has made me incredibly empathetic. When you talk to me I don't just hear you, I will feel what you are telling me, esp if I like you and in knowing what it feels like to have been hurt in a thousand different ways I also go out of my way not to cause anyone any pain. I may struggle with balance and I may get challenged by the types of people that keep coming at you even when your trying to walk away from a bad situation but I honestly hate hurting people.
