It's interesting to think that the waves Reuchlin made would be ridden by the reformers. I always felt that there was this dance and interplay (between the protestant movement and the survival of european jewish culture), but it wasn't direct or a conspiracy. It was purely the zeitgeist, perhaps the Holy Spirit. It reminds me of how the fight of the Macabees seem to set the stage for Christ's ministry.

I am but a meager scholar of Biblical teaching and very interested in your contribution to this cause. However, I'm also profoundly deaf and require Closed Caption to conduct my video studies. Please consider reviewing the transcriptions from your presentations to witness what others, like myself, are trying to navigate. Your commentary from Latin and Hebrew is surely beyond Google's capability to accurately translate into meaningful text. Such observation may present a viable opportunity for your presentations to reach the broader audience. Godspeed~

Thanks for reaching out. This has been on my mind a lot. I am still pretty new to this KZbin thing and I am still working on getting the basic video editing down. I would like CC to work properly but as you point out it is a challenge with multi-language. I have mild hearing loss so I am very sympathetic. Hebrew presents perhaps the biggest challenge for CC since it has a different alphabet. Would it be most helpful to present Hebrew words in Hebrew which would be unreadable to any unfamiliar with the language but more clear as to which word is intended or would it be better to spell it phonetically which while readable is a bit more subjective on spelling? I will look into learning how I can improve CC. For this particular video I have a more written out script I would happy to share. If you are familiar with Discord I run a community there. @@GilgameshofUtah You're already ahead of me with on the tech side. I have noticed that some producers apply their own captions which, I assume, are correct and accurate. I understand the Hebrew issue but that too likely has a phonetic solution. All I know, reading CC alone makes a mess of the simplest words and I think many producers never bother to preview what others will experience... Ok I cleaned it up a bit and it should work now for this video (I hope). Boy that was a lot of work. I need to find a more efficient way of handling CC going forward.

@@GilgameshofUtah I can only imagine the amount of work involved in creating (effective) content. I'm curious, since you already display overview text, perhaps it would be (relatively) simple to display your entire script...? Similarly, while I'm not a fan of the trend to use fast-paced, "flashy" subtitling often incorporated by producers, it seems apparent that some technology exists that allows for its ubiquitous use... As but one of the increasing population of hearing impaired, compounded by the notion that many (average) viewers utilize subtitles, being able to see the message is invaluable to gaining the clearest intended message, which is praiseworthy for your content~ Providing the meaning of Biblical literature can only aid in fulfilling the great commission: Matthew 28:18-20 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

@@mercermouth7571 Most of my videos are not scripted (this one was a bit of an exception) and the text displayed is most all there is at the time of filming. I have a few bullet points with a few quotes I might read, but nothing that really comes to a "script". So the process is largely a post recording, post editing one of getting the subtitles to actually match what I ended up saying. I frequently have an idea hit me during recording where I go off in an unexpected direction, and often during editing I am surprised at the points I wanted to make that I forgot. Cleaning things up to get rid of my ums and ahs or long pauses for thought or stumbling over words is a lot of the work right now. I try to keep what I display on the screen to interesting visuals or just highlighting the core of what I am speaking on, mostly to keep me on topic. I think for now CC is going to need to be a post processing thing, but I am trying to learn how to do more without sinking as much time in it. There are definitely more sophisticated setups out there. As the channel grows I hope to up my game a bit as well in production quality. But of course this is all just a side hobby and I have to balance it with everything else.
