Could be in the original sound mix, but somehow I doubt it. Clips from the official Bond KZbin channel tend to use the modern soundtrack remixes, and a lot of the sound effects were replaced with more modern sounding versions. That very well may be one of them.

@horrorfanandy4647Ай бұрын
@@UltimaKeyMaster I couldn't say without cross-comparing the film's original Mono with the 5.1 mix. But, I am fairly sure it's new for two reasons, one being that the 007 channel, for uniformity, uploads film clips with their modern sound remixes (just listen to the sound of the Attack on Piz Gloria in OHMSS, which sounds _very_ different to the original, with altered music cue placement and new gunshot sound effects etc) because the original optical soundtracks weren't Stereo, whereas later films in the series are. Secondly, (and more importantly) it just doesn't sound like a genuine sound effect from a 70's Bond film. It has too much (note the very distinct lack of any hiss despite how loud it is compared to the dialogue, not what you might expect for a 50 year old film) clarity, it's very high compared to the rest of the mix, which is of course to emphasise it, but even so. I think it's new, it sounds more modern. The sound effect itself may not be that new, but I don't think it's 50 years old like the film is. Just a somewhat educated guess on my part, I could be completely wrong.
@UltimaKeyMasterАй бұрын
@@horrorfanandy4647 I honestly would've thought it was just earlier decade bad sound balancing and never thought anything of it, and given I recognize the games the sound is used in, I really should be able to recognize if it was in there before, but I guess me not having watched too many of the Moore movies all the way through without just youtube clips I don't entirely remember.

In the world of smart devices and vaping I believe it would be hard to pull off such a film today. The idea of a single shot pistol that disassembles into regular everyday items was very neat to me. A secret agent vs a high dollar assassin. Not to mention the beautiful island that was "Scaramangas lair" that was also a brothel when not being used a film set.. Marne Maitland, who plays Lazar here, was a British-Indian actor who played supporting roles in many films. (“Bhowani Junction,” “Nine Hours To Rama,” and “Khartoum” are just some examples.) One of the many problems with this Bond film was not making better use of its supporting cast, including Maitland, Soon Teck-Oh and Richard Loo; not to mention its misuse of Christopher Lee! Having a tighter, more suspenseful script, greater tension between Moore and Lee, and better developed characters, would have made such an improvement! A better director certainly would have helped. So would leaving out Britt Ekland and Clifton James! Bond himself was poorly developed; one minute he’s beating up a woman, the next he’s getting knocked about by a dwarf. (And Moore’s ‘70s fashions - including that safari jacket - really date the film!) With regard to quality, this film had nowhere to go but up!

The movie gravitated between portraying Bond with camp lowbrow humour (a slide whistle, really?) and tough efficiency, as in this scene. I prefer the latter, but Moore didn’t care for it. Well, Bond IS licensed to kill and sometimes his job requires some extreme measures.

Is gold even a good metal to use in a bullet? I mean in performance sense not really counting the cost.

I'm pretty sure that it is not.

Gold plated maybe.

it will flatten, which is deadly INSIDE the entry wound. question then: is it stable enough to _cause_ entry wound ? reminds me of a Sherlock Holmes story, where the bullet was made from ice. it melted inside the body, leaving no trace cool stuff ! ;)

The movie mumble jumble is that it was 22k gold but the fact that the rest was nickel was enough to not have the bullets explode before coming out of Scaramanga’s gun barrel.
