After my last few relationships and a situationship I asked my ex's what was "wrong" with me. Two of them said, that I didn't make him commit (aka the status of the relationship was truly up to me and I should've required it). Another said I was like the perfect girlfriend but he wanted someone with some game (aka i was a bit boring and predictable). Those were easy pills to swallow because when I asked, I realized i was too available and always trying to prove that I am worthy. I also let them and everyone else disrespect me. I was so naive that I didn't see it as disrespect then. I just knew it didn't feel good. I was definitely a pickmeisha, smh. I am mature enough to realize my flaws and admit. I am also committed to not making those same mistakes while being graceful enough to know that I am still not perfect and the man that's for me, will not be perfect either!
@a.pieceofpie4 жыл бұрын
@Taylor Metoyer I still have a soft spot for the guy I was in a situationship with. The kicker is that he is married with children to a woman who said that if she wanted him as her man, she will have him! She literally made it a requirement. I like to grow and learn from my mistakes and was over the pain so it was easy to hear and accept at that point. Blessings to you and those new babies.
@Shae_34 жыл бұрын
I'm.a Star I think this is true in a lot of cases. I can also see where I did not require commitment. However, I would also say when I met my fiancé I didn’t have to require commitment he told me exactly what he wanted and he wanted commitment so not all guys need you to point the direction because they are already headed that way and sure about you. The type of guys that need you to require something before they be the man they need to be seem to not know what they want and need you to tell them but you also have to be vocal about your needs and wants as well.

I think I speak for most women that we already understand most men aren’t perfect. We as women just fall into the trap of not being able to discern what you can help a man with and what should be deal breakers. Women who rant about wanting a man already 100% together are just trying to compensate for doing too much for a man in a previous relationship or giving a man who wasn’t together a chance and he still played around.

I believe a good remedy for this is for women to sit down and determine/write out her absolute non-negotiables. What are certain things she’s just flat out going to refuse dealing with? Sadly the reason women get talked out of putting their foot down and having standards is because they’re shamed and socialized into doing so. Women are supposed to be nurturing, caring and forgiving. If a man “appears to be a good guy or “could be” one she’s expected to throw aside her “petty/boujee” annoyances and give that man whatever he wants at her expense. If women were encouraged to stick to their standards, whatever they may be, and women dropped their fear of judgement or ridicule from naysayers, many wouldn’t fold over and self sacrifice for a man under the guise of being a “good woman”. And you know what? Who defines that anyway, besides God? We’ve gotta learn to start listening to GOD more than other PEOPLE as well!

I went through this too. But I cut him off as soon as I felt like I was an option. I feel women must recognize that most men don’t come out and tell women clearly whether they are or NOT looking for a relationship. They want to keep women in the “grey area” as much as possible. It’s up to the women to recognize this “game”. Its deceiving. If you are comfortable, could either of you share the timeline of your relationships?

It's not that women dont have time but some men aren't worth it. When you call out most of these men they just disappear and never apologize for their behavior. They just say that your tripping or try to avoid it. When I give a man constructive criticism and not always being his cheerleader and he takes notice. Then we can help each other because I may have habits that bother him. Nowadays men like their ego stroked and when you cant shower them with compliments they find the next woman who doesnt really know who they are.

Oooooooo this was a good one. I’ve been working on moving past self doubt and doing what I need to do for myself. It’s not easy, but have to move forward. I was starting to resent being there for everyone else and abandoning myself until you started talking at 53 minutes. All of what you were saying really did hit home. I also need to work on my temperament and learn to be 🤐. Thank you again for this video! Everyone be blessed and stay safe! Covid-19 doesn’t discriminate.

I appreciate you all giving yourselves to benefit those of us who seek help and meaning. It apears luck was on your side with a beautiful partner and family. Celebrating that is good. In reality, it is simply not the case for many of us. For me it seems that I was in the wrong relationships all during my younger years (20s-30s) when marriage and children are usually established. After an anulment with a man who was not right for me, I went head first into furthering my education and finding a better job, relocating, caring for family members. Fast forward to the present I have furthered my education and earned a good career, but I never found a good partner.

God Bless You! This here video blessed my WHOLE LIFE you hear?! I’ve been watching you Tony for years, and your voice speaks in my head when I’m acting stupid or about to act unworthy! Thank you for obeying God in your calling, especially when you’re tired and feel like giving up sometimes! Happy Anniversary to you and your wife, and may the blessings and favor of God continue to follow your family, in Jesus name!
