1:16 fun fact: they hadn’t cast José Pedro Pascal when they filled the first 3 episodes. So that’s a stuntman with José Pedro Pascal’s voice added later.

The year is 9 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin). Us fans use a calendar system based on the Battle of Yavin in episode 4. Luke and Leia were born in 19 BBY and the 2nd Death Star was destroyed in 4 ABY.

I'm not sure If you got it through the video, but to answer your question: Mandalorian, Boba Fett and the Ahsoka shows are all happening in between original trilogy and the sequels - so basically there is still the Empire (defeated pieces) and at the same time there is a New Republic and New Jedi order of Luke Skywalker.

26:01 that’s called a disruptor rifle. It was so inhumane that the Empire banned them. You heard me: the GALACTIC EMPIRE. The same Empire that uses slave labor, executions, and planet destroyers. It was too brutal a weapon for those guys and we finally know why.

No one really understood Mandalorian culture until this show came out. The show is done by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. So what you will see from The Clone Wars and The Rebels animation will flow into this show. Most of the story is from Dave Filoni's animation creations but Favreau was also given creative license and he and Filoni smooth out the ideas created in the animated world to bring it to live action. Everyone is a Pedro fan so you are very normal in you love for Pedro Mando. There are some interesting BTS of each episode about who is directing and acting. Pedro had to really deal with his contract with them so he can do the voice work at a distance and his time on set is limited so honestly he is only in the suit maybe 20% of the time. There are two stunt actors that do most of the Din Djarin body work where Pedro does all the voice acting and some actual body work throughout the seasons. You will get your Pedro fix though, haha. And you will have to wait for your other man but he will be along.

Pedro's face is seldom seen. You will have to wait for the big dramatic reveals. They do happen just as Baby Yoda did 🙂 Jon Favreau, the show runner and writer, really wanted Pascal but Pedro had 2 prior commitments - playing Hamlet on Broadway and the film Wonder Women 1984. They created a work around by using a body double Brendon Wayne (John Wayne's grandson) and his stunt man Lateef Crowder in the Mandalorian costume while Pascal was performing in the other projects and he voiced the character later in the recording studio. The same technique was used for Pascal to be in The Last of Us shooting in Canada at the same time as the Mandalorian was filming in L.A. Meanwhile What you call "filler shots" I call character development. The entire series is based around the old Hollywood westerns "strong silent type hero" John Wayne etc and the Japanese samurai "Lone Wolf and Cub".

Hey, Gigii! "LONE WOLF AND CUB" Star Wars-style! There's a long-running manga (Japanese comics) from the '70's about a grizzled, disgraced Japanese swordsman and his infant son who travel the road undergoing a variety of adventures while seeking revenge against the clan that ruined them. The manga has been collected and translated for Western readers. Movies and a TV series in Japan have been based on it. This whole series is an homage to that story. Originally, Mandalorians were a non-human species called Taung. Over time, the martial philosophy of the original species was adopted by other species transforming a racial heritage into a cultural heritage. Mandalorians are predominantly human nowadays and are basically SPACE SPARTANS. They have fought with and against both the Jedi and the Sith throughout history as well as nearly dominated the galaxy on their own at one point under Mandalore the Great, an Alexander-like figure. During the Clone Wars, under Duchess Satine, they went through a pacifist phase. You've seen Mandalorian armor before worn by bounty hunter Jango Fett who served as the template for the clone army in the Prequel trilogy and worn by his unaccelerated clone "son", Boba Fett, who captured Han Solo in the Classic trilogy. You learn much more about Mandalorians in the animated "Clone Wars" TV series as well as watch young Boba grow to manhood. The BESKAR metal Mando is paid in advance and provides to the armorer is prized by Mandalorians because it's impervious to LIGHTSABER strikes. This show is set 5 years after the Empire was defeated in "Return of the Jedi". When Empires collapse, provincial governors and generals assume control of extant fragments. It happened to Alexander's Empire, to the Mongol Empire, to the Western Roman Empire, to Imperial India and to Dynastic China. Those regions of the galaxy not under the control of the New Republic are controlled by IMPERIAL REMNANTS. The client, played by Werner Herzog, seems to be a civilian Imperial of high rank. The inestimable Werner Herzog is an internationally acclaimed German documentarian and filmmaker! He shot the classic "Fitzcarraldo" in the Amazon jungle and actually hauled a ferryboat over a huge muddy ridge to get from one tributary of the Amazon to another enlisting the aid of hundreds of Amazonian Indians. He collaborated frequently with an insane hothead actor called Klaus Kinski who would stall production with fits of apoplexy! His documentaries are deeply humane and profound explorations of the bizarre and unusual ranging from life at Antarctic research stations to cave paintings to vulcanology to the career of ex-Russian Premier Gorbachev. He is a beloved figure in the cinematic world and is thought of as a very serious guy with a truly distinctive way of speaking. When he does the occasional acting role, it's always a treat to see this cerebral icon just cut loose! He fell in love with Baby Yoda and kept exhorting the cast and crew to "commit to the magic" of the puppetry! Lol. Did you recognize the creature that was like Jabba's cackling pet? I love the Kowakian monkey-lizard being roasted on a spit while a caged one watches! It's so mean. Nick Nolte brilliantly voiced the Blurrg-wrangling Ugnaught with his "I have spoken" catch-phrase. Ugnaughts are short, porcine tinkerers. You've seen them before in Cloud City working the smelter that almost turned Threepio's parts to slag in "Empire Strikes Back"! "Thor: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi voiced IG-11, the assassin robot. He also directs the season finale. The music is by composer Ludwig Goransson who also provided the scores for "Creed", "Black Panther", "Venom" and "Tenet". The style of this series is modeled after a genre known as Spaghetti Westerns which were Italian oaters mostly shot in Spain with international casts in the '60's-'70's. These films were highly stylized, melodramatic and hyperviolent examples of an American genre refracted through European eyes. The three greatest practitioners were the three Sergios: Sergio Leone, Sergio Corbucci and Sergio Sollima. Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name trilogy ending with "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" was directed by Leone and is a classic of the genre. A KZbinr cut a trailer of "The Mandalorian" in the style of a Leone film calling it "IL MANDALORIANO"! It's absolutely hysterical. Check it out! Lucasfilm animation head responsible for "Clone Wars", "The Bad Batch" and "Rebels", "Mandalorian" co-producer and Lucas disciple Dave Filoni directed the series premiere. I highly recommend you watch the animated shows before Season 2 in order to fully appreciate it. Much of current live-action Star Wars is based on developments, characters and artifacts first seen in the animated shows.

I've been waiting months for you to make it this far into your Star Wars journey. Your reaction to the "baby Yoda" reveal was pretty much how I figured it would go. The internet essentially broke once he (yes, it's a "he") made his debut. Glad you are watching The Clone Wars as well. Don't worry.....it will pick up in intensity as you work your way further into the seasons. I had to keep reminding myself that The Clone Wars was essentially a show directed toward children....but as the seasons progress, the stories and the writing will "age" along with the intended audience. I was in my 40's when I first watched Clone Wars but never really felt l was watching something that was too "juvenile" for me to take seriously. Some of the best Star Wars content can be found in both The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels (takes place roughly 5 years or so AFTER the Clone Wars stories). Looking forward to more Mandalorian uploads! I'll be patiently waiting😁.

Hey, Gigii! EPISODE 2: After seeing Mando vaporize those Trandoshan bounty hunters and pesky Jawas, we now understand why Vader directed his "No disintegrations" instructions specifically to Boba Fett in "The Empire Strikes Back" when the bounty hunters were tasked with tracking down the 'Millennium Falcon'! Apparently, it's a Mandalorian tactic. The Jawas scraping Mando against the canyon wall as he scaled the sandcrawler was an homage to "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" when the Nazi tank scraped Indy against the canyon wall while he was suspended from its turret by his satchel strap. The yodaling was reaching for Mando to demonstrate an ability first seen in the Sequel trilogy's "The Rise of Skywalker" which would have made its usage here the earliest chronological example of the ability in the franchise. It will later be revealed what he was attempting to do. Even though a vibroknife's vibrating blade leaves horrendous gashes in the toughest hides, Mando was down to his last trick with that rampaging Mudhorn and was prepared to go down like a true warrior holding his ground against a superior opponent. The yodaling exerted himself so much Force-lifting the Mudhorn that he collapsed with exhaustion for nearly a day! He wasn't just napping, he was recuperating. I really love the concept art at the end of each episode. It's somewhat reminiscent of Dave Dorman's and Hugh Fleming's work who did painterly covers on a lot of Dark Horse graphic novels when they had the license to Star Wars. Most of that stuff is considered the non-canonical Expanded Universe nowadays after the Disney buy-out. If you're interested in the behind-the-scenes for this show, Disney+ has an 8-part companion series called "Gallery" covering all aspects of production including round tables with the directors and cast. Rick Famuyiwa directed this episode. EPISODE 3: The camtono containing Mando's beskar payment is actually an ice cream maker that initially was carried as a prop by an extra deserting Bespin in "The Empire Strikes Back" as a futuristic storage container. The obscure extra was made into a highly collectible action figure called Willrow Hood with camtono accessory! The ice cream maker is now the go-to prop whenever the Star Wars equivalent of an attache case is required! BESKAR steel is highly prized by Mandalorians because it is impervious to lightsaber strikes! I love Carl Weather's boisterous 'hail, fellow, well met!' approach to Magistrate Karga. It's a nice contrast to the laconic Mandalorian. "All of them, Mando! ALL of them!". Mando should've taken him up on the offer of the Twi'lek baths! Who wouldn't want a hot soak with a bunch of sexy Twi'leks? Paz Vizsla, the belligerent Mandalorian who traded blows with Mando in the covert but came to his aid with the heavy firepower at the end was voiced by series creator Jon Favreau! The Vizsla family has a long history with Mando's sect and Favreau previously voiced his kinsman, Pre Vizsla, in the animated "Clone Wars". The strict creed of Mando's sect of never removing the helmet marks them as fundamentalists when compared to Jango Fett in "Attack of the Clones" or the many unhelmeted Mandalorians seen in "Clone Wars". Mando's group are the equivalent of Puritanical Christians, Hasidic Jews, Shi'ite Muslims or Theravada Buddhists. The sentry droid Mando yanks out of the wall is the same type used to greet visitors at Jabba's palace in "Return of the Jedi" and the hovering interrogation droid Mando blasts is the same type used on Leia in "A New Hope". The insignia on the right shoulder patch of Dr. Pershing, who is played by Omid Abtahi of "American Gods", is identical to those worn by the Jango Fett clone trainees on Kamino in "Attack of the Clones". It looks like this: ' il '. The speculation at the time was that the Imperials wanted to clone the yodaling. Do not judge Dr. Pershing too harshly. He was protecting the child from vivisection! Greef Karga was saved from Mando's blaster shot by the bar of beskar he took as his cut of Mando's payout which you did notice. Deborah Chow directed the action-packed third episode and was one of the discoveries of the series.

This is some few years after episode 6, episode 7 is many decades after. Beskar is a material that is resistant to blasters and even lightsabers, and which is used by the mandalorians to make their armor. The knives are vibro knives, and the vibrations makes it able to cut through stuff better. Moan lover is not acceptable. Yes, Sweden is cold, this is the way, I have spoken.

Don't let them nerds bully you into watching clone wars if you don't want to. If Dave Filoni doesn't tell you what you NEED to know about the story in this show, then it's a failure on his part expecting people to sit through 7 seasons of bumbling Jedi antics.
