This is NOT A SPOILER ALERT, merely a bit of Star Wars history because it comes up in episode 7 and I know you're going to ask what is because you're not a total nerd like I am (yet, maybe). Operation: Cinder was the codename for the orbital bombardment campaign devised by Galactic Emperor Darth Sidious (Palpatine), who sought to punish the Galactic Empire for failing to prevent his death (I know right? Evil to the max!!). Following the Emperor's demise during the Battle of Endor, his posthumous instructions were relayed to loyal Imperial officers by messenger droids. Using an array of satellites that shot thermal energy rays to a plant's surface, burning everythang as they orbited, they targeted various planets across the galaxy known for their loyalty to the Empire, and the Emperor's homeworld of Naboo. Although Naboo was saved during the Battle of Theed, Vardos was devastated by satellites that ravaged its ecological balance. Operation: Cinder was the first part in the Emperor's Contingency; the Empire was to be rebuilt in the Unknown Regions while Sidious was secretly revived on Exegol. Again, this is not a spoiler, it is a reference point that comes up in episode 7, and I thought you might like to be in the loop on this one. Love you're channel, and for the Scary/not Scary marathon, definitely watch "Young Frankenstein" and "Dracula, Dead and Loving It!" They're both Mel Brooks movies, so Scary and not scary.

True; one one part the Galactic Empire is not gone but in shambles. Admirals and Grand Admirals are fighting each other to become the leader in the absent of Supreme Leader/Emperor. Now what's left are called "Remnants". Princess Leia is a chancellor in the newly established New Republic; only because there were the Republic and the Old Republic; so why not? They have no reason to "resist" yet, but they are suffering as the unnamed officer of the Empire in season one said. The First order has yet the strength to rivals the New Republic as of now so they aren't eager to show their nose. Snoke is probaby hadn't been bred yet.
@cmrobbins882 жыл бұрын
The Resistance is splinter cell of the New Republic that saw the First Order as an actual threat and was founded by Leia after she was no longer a part of the New Republic Senate when it was publicly revealed that Darth Vader was her biological father in the current/Disney canon. This is way after Mandalorian and Mando takes place only 10 years after Return of the Jedi, so there is no First Order yet, just stragglers of the Empire after their final defeat on Jakku.
@roryotoole32792 жыл бұрын
@@MikeB12800 resistance and rebellion are two different things. They were not the resistance they were the rebellion which was a full-fledged organized rebellion against the Empire. The first order is not the Empire. After the rise of the first order then a resistance begins made up of many of the same freedom fighters who fought in the rebellion against the Empire. Whether or not palpatine is still alive he's not in power and there is no resistance till the first order moves in or Palps returns to power. It's understandable that it can be confusing but there's a definite difference between the Empire and the First Order and those who oppose them. Mandalorian time is definitely before the existence of the First Order. I do agree though she probably should do some kind of refresher of the original trilogy since she didn't seem to even understand who the X-wings were. But of course she's not a die-hard fan she's a more casual fan so it's not something she necessarily thinks about a lot or has had years to focus on like many fans have. Maybe someone should make out a timeline for her for reference so she understands when these various shows/stories take place and what's going on at that time in the galaxy far far away.
