This episode brought me pure, unbridled joy. To steal a quote from John (reel rejects) when Dinn gave Bo the Darksabre, “This is the loophole.”

Loved the investigation; so much of Din's history came into play. But it's a good job Din accompanied Bo on her quest otherwise she wouldn't have solved the side quest and be able to meet with the other Mandalorians, let alone win them over. The episode definitely highlighted that Din as a former foundling is more honourable and truer to what it means to be a Mandalorian than Axe Woves and his gang.

Star Trek, Logan’s Run, Blade Runner, Dr. Who, Westworld, buddy cop (good cop, bad cop), CSI - loved the references/influences. Probably missed a few others. This was a fun episode for me.

I've heard people call the episodes that introduced Cara Dune, Fennec Shand, Mayfield, and Cobb Vanth all "side quest" episodes before we realized that those characters would be reintroduced into story later. I get the feeling we will see some of these characters again.

The Mandalorian is about every Mandalorian , Din, Bo-Katan, Grogu etc. This is the way. I have spoken. Plus the rogue droids behave like the unleashed ghosts 👻 in The Ghost Busters!

Re IG-11… Din was looking to get IG back so he would have someone he trusted watching his 6, …soooo as the episodes have played out, what is Bo Katan doing …hmm? how many times has she saved his ass? On another scene going down to the Ugnaughts, Bo’s face is like- we are wasting time, I can’t believe we are caught up in this bs just to get a meet with the mando’s…., and Din’s like welcome to my world vibe-. This was a seriously fun episode, totally enjoyed it for what it was, imho, let go of your expectations of what you wish for and enjoy the ride….we’re in good hands of the masters..DF & JF. I have spoken.

Was not expecting Jack Black I just realized the B2 battle droids have a face kinda like b1 droids, its just surrounded by their 'shoulders' I love Bo katan. Shes pretty. And by extension Katee is too Edit: now i want an open world star wars game where we play a Mandalorian and get to customize our armor, and have a ship (legendary rarity ones called Bo Katan's Gauntlet or Din Djarin's N1). Thatd be so sick

​@@Jiibay7796 It feels like the main character of the show is sidelined and the show is now more of a Bo katan show than Din's show. It was a fun episode, but a dissapointment because of the fact that there's 2 episodes left and Grogu coming back had no impact at all, Din having the darksaber was useless because he didn't get to use it and his character didn't evolve because of it. As a standalone episode, I would have loved it, but in the context of the mandalorian, it doesn't make sense to spend a whole episode on a useless sidequest

Excellent episode. Lots of loose ends are being woven into the overall fabric of the tale. Especially helpful is making clear the leadership of the Mandalorians, and Bo and Mando make a potent team. I'm waiting to see how Grogu fits in. Cameos by Chris Lloyd and Jack Black were a nice touch.

I looked at the captain and was like, "Is that Jack Black? It sure looks like him, but there's no way..." Then when his name popped up in the end credits, I was like, "That WAS him?! No way!" And I didn't know that was Lizzo until her name also popped up. And I'm not even a fan of her. She did pretty good in terms of acting, I gotta admit.

IDK...I wouldn't hold my breath for a backdoor Ahsoka episode. We've got 2 eppies left and I think there's still a great deal to circle back to. Namely...who helped Moff escape. We know Carson Teva found evidence of Beskar on the ship. No doubt the implication that Mandalorians were involved has made its way back to the New Republic. Our Mando crew is probably going to be hearing from them soon. The timing couldn't be worse with them making friends and finding support on 2 worlds now (Navarro and Plazier). Speaking of Navarro...I think IG-11 will be the Marshall. Greef said they needed one and he asked Mando but he was on his way to Mandalore. That group of Mandos was given land there but with their impending troubles..I think that'll leave an opening for IG-11 to be the one to uphold the laws. Maybe you'll get a scene where we see or hear someone who'll be in the Ahsoka show...or someone will reference her. But I don't see heavy time being give to setting that up given the limited time we have left. Finally, it occurred to me that Bo has no idea why Mando is so distrusting of droids. I think he was surrounded by the same kind of droids who murdered his parents. No wonder he couldn't restrain his prejudice. PS...I loved hearing Queel's theme again..when Mando was speaking to the other Ugnaughts and him saying "I have spoken." I've missed those words. And I really like how they showed how good he is at speaking to other creatures in their language. We saw him do it with the Tuskan Raiders and now the Ugnaughts.

No it’s not bad, I kinda want to see Din become more than just the lone wolf he was at the start of the show. A couple things: Whenever Bo-katan leads Mandolore bad things happen to make her lose the throne, maybe it’s time for a change. Also If bad batch taught us anything, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bo-Katan dies in the finale after all the character development she’s gotten this season forcing Din to take the darksaber again

I think what everyone is freaking out about is that fact they aren’t spending enough time on the season story and Din/grogu. Before i watch the episode i always check the length of it, I presume most people do this. What ruined the episode for me was the voice in the back of my head saying “we are spending way too much time in this mission” so i was kinda pissed before even going into the episodes resolution, because i knew it would be rushed… The first 80% of the episode could have been completely the same, but just make it a 45-50min episode and spend the last 20mins actually telling a decent story of how the darksaber gets back to Bo. People may not then be so critical of the “silly” bits, it not like star wars is all serious (jar jar). If they did that everyone would be satisfied. The casual watchers get their fun cameos and investigation type episode. But, the hardcore fans get a well paced experience of how Bo is bringing the tribes together, and how she gets the darksaber back (a very pivotal event) it shouldn’t have been done in 5 minutes. Some people are tired of disney trying to make the series mainstream rather than serving the fans that star wars has had for 30+ years. I am a hypocrite though, because i will still consume anything that comes out 🫠

This show has always been a monster of the week style show, a journey through the galaxy with Din and the random adventures he goes on, i don't know why everyone is suddenly so fixated on a singular season long story.

@@simchar4263 I agree that the mando has a “do the thing” style to it, Din usually has to do something before he can move forward in his overall mission. But, it gets to a point where we have no build up, the more people are invested in the build up/tension of the ending resolution the better season (and its story) usually is. Im not saying that i hated it all. It’s just annoying that the main story (important) scenes feel rushed.

It was very dissppointing that Bo got the darksaber from din without fighting him. The saber must have won by combat. Din explains that a droid defeated him. That Was an ambush not a real fight. It still belongs to Din. But they were a good Team. Bo(good cop) Din (Bad Cop). It was nice to see Bo's high respect for Din Djarin and vice versa. I think they will be a good family. Queen(Mom), Worker(din), grogu(son) what are your thoughts?

I think this might come into play later. Considering we've already seen the Mythosaur this season, I wouldn't be surprised if the Way of the Mandalore rules turn out to be an actual set of magical rules that makes Bo-Katan lose the Darksaber again since it wasn't taken from Din in combat, so it still belonged to him. It'd be ironic to have Bo-Katan get it again, lose it again and fuck up the retaking of Mandalore in the process

Meh. It's like having a show named Batman and then making the show about Robin. Bo is a huge character but they're minimizing who was originally the main character. Not to mention not advancing the plot on who BBY is or will be. It's like BBY is now just a sideshow for $$$ for Disney. Mando always said he didn't want to rule or own the saber but to me a much better plot is the saber choosing you.

And the throw the puppet special effects with Grogu’s movements are less sophisticated than you would see in a Junior High School play.

I am not trying to speak for all here- I am sure there are fans here that enjoy this season and that's great. However, based on viewership you can measure that success from episode to episode and that has been on a steady decline. Compare to season two - it's linear, builds every episode, and has a plot. This entire season its been a smorgasburg and completely random.
