Hey Nikki & Steven! I thought this ep was a bit goofy, but it was entertaining. So, I have a question... I didn't watch the 'Clone Wars' show, so I don't know alot about the background of Bo. My question is this: Does Bo have force powers?! I ask, because I do understand how the first ruler of Mandalore had the dark saber, & he was also a jedi. I missed it the first time, but in the 'previously on' shots at the beginning of this episode shows Bo fighting the creature that caught Jin, & she reached her hand out, and the dark saber came right to her, like it was Thor & Mjölnir!! So, again, I ask... Does Bo have any force powers?! Obviously, she has some connection to the saber, or the force, or both! It would make sense for the story if Bo has the saber, her fleet, a following, and also force powers?! It's looking like prophecy! All she needs is a giant creature that everyone thinks is a myth! I'm guessing the final episode of the season, we'll see that Mythasour, with Bo riding high... I just hope it moves better than the Rancor. I mean, using cgi to make creatures that move like they're made with stop-motion? Nope, I don't like it... Use it for one, or use it for everything!! Two things fighting, one moving realistically, & the other looking like it was made in '83?! Nope, don't like it. Sorry for the little rant at the end, Boba bugged me in some episodes. That show needed a few more months in the oven, imo. 🤘😁 ...CAN'T WANT FOR THE UHTRED MOVIE!!!

The Darksaber must be won in COMBAT. They never say "duel" or "1v1" or "fair/honorable fight". Some people say it's a technicality or loophole, but it's just facts. The Droid defeated Din in combat, because being killed in an ambush is still combat. Bo then defeated that creature in combat. I get it, some people wanted Bo and Din to fight, but there is NO OUTCOME to that, that wouldn't piss off a massive group of fans. It would only serve to degrade to prowess of either Din or Bo. Also, despite being a badass, how many times has Din used diplomacy to solve problems? This is just one more time. Lastly, the Mandalorian has always been a space Western, and Din is the equivalent of Eastwood's "Man with no name". Eastwood never stuck around to rule the people he saved, and that was part of the mystique. He came out of nowhere all mysterious, brought order, and left. If Din ruled Mandalore, he would be sidelined because he would be ruling. Allowing Bo to rule means that she fulfills her destiny, and allows Din/Grogu to continue with their adventures. The overarching theme of the season has been "Restoring Mandalore", and it has been steady. Going there, being Redeemed, seeing the Mythosaur, seeking the Armorer for Guidance, earning trust and learning what it means to be Mandalorian, uniting their people under a single leader, and now with two episodes left, you can return to Mandalore. I think Season 3 has been amazing because it has expanded the Mandalorian culture (on TV) in such a good way. P.S. Why does everyone think the love scene at the beginning was "weird"? It's Star Wars people, there are aliens. Are Aliens not allowed to experience love? If non-humans are romantic, it's "weird"? So xenophobic!! PROTESTS!!!

what if . . . at some point... may be a dangerous battle where bo's life be in eminent danger, Din then weilds that dark sabre and would be able to fight with ferocity and control ... to be able to save or protect bo ... I think Din is now taking a position like a close bogyguard/guardian of Bo, without her realizing it... as to protect her from possible members of the clan to commit mutiny or anything of that sort... and eventually Bo or Din at some point will be able to ride/control the mythosaur as in both would qualify to Lead... or what if, at this point while Bo leads, din would now seak master Luke again and would now subject himself and grogu in training separately by Luke... and while the mandalorians get a beating from the empire, Din returns to rally the clan to battle the empire for a win... just crazy thoughts... also, Din honors his word to Bo in chapter16, he's not after the sabre.

Dinn tried to give her the dark saber 15 minutes after he got it. And yeah, this seasons story arch is rebuilding Mandalor... and each episode has been about unifying the diminished number of remaining mandalorians. Bo has shown a lot of character growth, that in my opinion makes her for more capable of a leader. Now her goal isn't for power, but rather for her people... when before, she just wanted the power to buttress her "birthright".

Actually the whole thing with Dr Pershing is that if you recall Jack Black's character was talking about the imperial rehabilitation program that he went through and it showed both aspects of the good and the not-so-good and the issues that are coming up with insurgents from the first order. It also shows a similar trend from the empire to the new republic the difficulty of changing of the leaders of the galaxy. Boba Fett said it best regarding his goals in leadership "Jaba ruled with fear, I intend to rule with respect" and the new republic is trying that aspect but is having a harder time at it than Boba is

To my mind, the most important thing about the events on Mandalore is not necessarily the cyborg droid thing's sneak attack, it was the fact that Bo Katan saved Din's life twice in the same day, and could very easily have left him and claimed the Darksaber but didn't. To me she is the one to whom it belongs.

I did expect that the Armorer would take her helmet off, but I think it's been pretty firmly established that Bo is not going to challenge Din for the Darksaber. If she was going to do it, she could have done it at the end of season 2. And I read the looks between Paz Vizsla and Din as Vizsla being like "Do you agree with this?" and Din like "Yes, I agree".

I think it's important to remember a large part of the Mandalorian is that it takes a lot from the old Western serial shows. Where good guy comes into town, solves the town's problems, then rides off into the sunset. It's a classic format and I love it!

Question for a Steven, did you notice the prince the Mandalorians retrieved was the bounty offered to Din Djarin which he turned down in lieu of the mission that brought Grogu into his life? I think that we’ve been given branches that grow the story; connect the plot holes of the sequel trilogy, and to help connect the Thrawn story. It is likely Moff Gideon has been reporting to Grand Admiral Thrawn. My fear is after the imperials destroyed Bo Katan’s castle she has a target on her back and the major threat is coming.

Are you sure about that? The Mon Calamari "nobleman's son" mentioned in the first season was said to have "skipped bail", meaning he was supposed to be in court for a crime, whereas the one in this episode was merely being retrieved because he tried to elope with a Quarren. Also, the head shape of the first season holo pic was an adult, with longer barbels (whiskers) like Ackbar, whereas the one in this ep was younger, with minimal barbels.

Din/Bo vibes strong in this. Also what better rulers to have than one with experience and an entire exposure to Mandalorian culture from birth and journey (Bo-Katan), and one who is so Mandalorian that he doesn't want to be "king" (Din)? Also Bo is like a mom to Grogu at this point. He was sitting with her at the front seat of her ship whereas Din was in the backseat lol.

I think that the transfer of the Darksaber to the alien in the mech suit isn't really 'the way', and that Din knows. That's why he omitted that there was no actual combat. I think he also knew that Bo Katan wouldn't accept his reasoning without the acceptance of the ex-leader.

Steven, you're allowed to have your preference (and we share them). I like that you state your preferences and opinions without doing anything to try and take the enjoyment away from the people that like other things. That's the perfect way to express yourself while encouraging people to feel their own joy. That said - I think this season is about bridging the very intimate story of Grogu and Mando with the greater, larger stories playing out around them that we didn't have perspective on. It makes me excited for the next few seasons.

So the love story in the beginning has some more context behind it. In the Clone Wars, there was an arc about a civil war between the Mon Calamari and the Quarren. They are two species that live on the same ocean planet. So even through the war is over, it is implied here that the Mon Calamari family still does not want their child dating a Quarren.

I see a lot of people saying this season is all over the place, however I like to think of this season as a clone wars style season. The episodes are very self contained BUT they drop pieces of plot in the episodes. I understand most people want a continuous plot driven season but we’ve gotten A LOT of that in the past couple years between Mando, Bad Batch, clone wars, Andor, and I think episodes like this are good when it’s constantly so serious. ❤

Bo hadn't earned the sabre when Dinn tried to give it to her when he won it from Moff Gideon. By their own rules she won it rescuing Dinn, then gave it back to him immediately without him earning it back. It's not a loophole (which people are saying) if it's their own rule

Din wasn’t bested tho, he didn’t fight he didn’t even draw his weapon he was captured by a trap and drained It’s a shitty loophole. Din story on how he got it was much better he defeated moff Gideon in combat, he fought Paz Vizsla who’s ancestor was the actual owner of the saber. Also BoKatan clan is worse than din djarins clan, they look down on din because he is in their eyes not even mandalorian. There basically racist Christians ,preaching what they don’t do they say the ruler of mandalore must wield the saber yet they look down on din because of his way ,his clan.

Dinn was captured by an enemy, had the sabre taken from him by that enemy and would have died at the hands of that enemy, if he wasn’t rescued by Bo who killed that enemy. He was then handed the Sabre back without earning it. Those are the facts, doesn’t matter what you feel about which character deserves it more. Facts are facts, not your feelings

Does not change the fact that the writers contradict themselves as in the past they’ve said the saber is nothing without the story yet they make such a great story for din just to destroy it. Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against Bo Katan she was probably one of my favorite characters in clone wars, I was just as disappointed when sabine handed over the saber to bo so easily , sabine had challengers for the saber and won din had challengers and won even tho he sucked with the saber but at least he wasn’t , I guess afraid to challenge. Idk why they didn’t just make bo challenge him.

Ive wondered about why Din doesnt use his jet pack, but Bo does….. Theory in two parts 1 there are different types, designed to excel in key areas 2 as state above each Mandalorian trains differently with their jet pack… ling sustained flight versus boosts in close combat.

Personally, I'm happy with the workaround way that they resolved the Dark Saber issue. If Bo and Din had to fight for it, who would you root for? Mando is the star of the show, and a great and honorable guy. Bo has also shown herself to be honorable and deeply respectful of Mandolorian culture, even Din's sect. How do you choose sides when two good guys are fighting each other?

This episode was basically made after the "buddy movie" model from the 80's. 2 "cops" together, jokes everywhere, a corrupt/malfunctioning elite, a chase in a crowded street ending with a thug shot, then they find the address of a shady bar, music stops there because they don't like "coppers", good cop/bad cop... It's all there, and I found it pretty nice that they managed to adapt it to the star wars universe.

Anyone else notice Bo-Katan takes out Helgaite before he can say "Anakin"? And when Din looks at her she gets huffy and say "Politics". Bo may not know that Anakin became Vader, but Obi-Wan (and his relationship with her sister) looks like is still a sore subject for her.

Thrawn, Gideon, storm troopers and the mando traitors are waiting for the Mandalorians on Mandalore. Out numbered till the Ghost Crew along with Asohka show up since they're looking for Thrawn. The Mythosaur breaks free and it's the best episode ever 😂 . Plus a flashback Grogu scene with another familiar face would be awesome.

I wasn't upset that Din and Bo didn't fight over the darksaber. I never wanted that scenario in the first place. This episode reminded me of Season 1. The main narrative was interrupted for a side plot, just as Season 1's narrative was interrupted for 3 standalone episodes. I think Favreau is padding out this season in order to end it on a cliffhanger.

My 2 cents worth, 1 - Din has respect for Bo due to her saving his life on Mandalore & from the Armourer placing her in charge of reuniting The Mandalorians so found a loophole to "Give" her the Dark Sword without a fight. 2 - the season feels like an intermission between season 2 & season 4 so we get a rest before they turn up the volume & pace for the rest of the show, well I hope so, liked the season so far but not as drawn into the show as I was for seasons 1 & 2.

The love story in the beginning is important too. Maybe not for the show, but in the greater scheme of things... Mon Calamari and Quarren are from the same planet and basically have been at war since day 1... Having two high level people trying to be together is just not nothing. Gotta love the Christopher Lloyd appearance here! Can't go wrong with old Doc Brown. He is brilliant!

This season just feels like it’s setting the stage for season 4 to be much bigger. that being set, the ending will be big for season 3 if you consider leaks and such. i’m sure there will be some really cool battle at the end with the mando fleet

Din tolerates and appreciates Droids, but he still hates and doesn't trust battle droids, whom are the cause of his initial hatred and distrust towards Droids in general, since they (not these individuals) were responsible for the deaths of his parents, the other lives lost, and the destruction of his home village 🥺😣😔 (the B2 Battle Droids aka Super Droids to be specific 😓).

I don’t think the Children of the Way care as much about the dark saber as Bo-katan’s old crew does. Their primary concern is that the Armorer approve of the leader. I loved the cold open. It was sweet and tragic. The costumes, creature effects, and droids in this episode were great. If you look at the history of the dark saber, it’s been passed on under some pretty suspicious circumstances before. I think these last two episodes will bring everything that’s happened this season together. I’m thinking this season will end with Mandalorians starting to come together on Mandalore. And some of them will agree to help Ahsoka during her show.
