Another great video as usual. Glad to see EFX rolling forward. Would love to see them dive back into original trilogy concept RMQ helmets. The Vader hands down the coolest thing they ever released. The price tags its selling for now proves that. Congrats EFX!

Gabe, I think you do a great job on reviewing these helmets. I got my Armorer helmet the other day from EFX and unfortunately I do not feel the same way you feel, as a matter fact I feel totally opposite. this helmet feels and looks like it's plastic to me. After spending almost $1000 on this helmet I asked myself what the heck is wrong with me! but like you I am a big kid so I do enjoy the good, the bad and the ugly of the Star Wars replica universe. Other words, it is what it is!. I'll learn to love it like an ugly dog who came out of nowhere I will learn to love it ! OK thanks for your time. I'll do a review of the one I got one of these days.

Hey Tony! Aw man I’m sorry you didn’t like the paint on it. I’m curious to see it, does it look the same as on the video? I think I mentioned it in my video that lighting plays a huge role with this helmet because the screen used one was made for dark scenes. I think it’s like the mando helmet where people thought it was too dark but that’s just how the screen used prop is. Or like the Legend Vader with all the paint streaks. You should definitely have it repainted by a pro, The only good thing about the EFX is the helmet cast. paint apps are almost never good.

thank you very much for the review!!!!! I noticed how ETX advertised this helmet that they got the original molds but say nothing to about the paints they used. Which is huge because that makes the difference on whether it looks like Metal , or plastic painted gold. to get such affect is A LOT of money as the show used a special pant called alumaluster which can go for 500 dollars per small can, makes sense that they might cheap out on the paint job and focus on the shape. Its a HUGE factor on whether or not I'd spend the money to get my hands on one of these so thank you so much for clarifying.

Got mine today and it looks nothing like this guy's artist proof. Paint chipping, very flat finish, also like a 1.5 inch glob of paint filling in the mold line at the front of the helmet. Trying to get a replacement now.

So the glob in the mold line appears to be part of the original cast because it’s in every single one I’ve seen. Including mine. Remember that the prop masters sometimes just throw things together not expecting them to be scrutinized under a microscope. Just to look good on the screen. The paint is going to be flat as well because I’m sure the production didn’t want light bouncing off metal surfaces.

The finish does not look very metallic, it seems to have a flat finish. Can you confirm?
