As a math nerd, I really appreciate how you included the actual equations along with the pretty pictures! 🤓 Looking forward to your next one!

Thanks! I wanted to show off some nice pictures, but I feel like just putting them in a vacuum without the mathematical context is far less interesting :) Next up is probably either the 4d Julia set or elementary cellular automaton :D

This is one of my favorite fractals! As you probably know, it's very slow to render normally due to how many samples are needed, but I was able to run them on a GPU with CUDA which is much faster albeit tricky to setup and program.

6:50 Oh man, I like this one! It's almost alien-looking.

7:50 One of my favorite images of Julia sets is this, but instead of a 5x5, you do 100x100. You end up seeing a Mandelbrot fractal made of Julia fractals. Looking forward to the video on 4D Julia sets, I love them.

Oh true I totally forgot about that! Truly one of the most inefficient ways of creating the Mandelbrot set, but also the coolest :D

I think this is cool because it gives a feeling of the 4D Nature of these structures. Would love to see a video about the 3D projection of that. I made some renders and they also look sick.

Yeah, it's got my whole mind oszillating right now, due to how great the quality of the content truly is!

Oh true! I totally forgot about that :D I swear I heard about that in some KZbin video before somewhere

Great video! Thanks for your job in this topic!! I wonder what it would be like to see the 4D Mandelbrot/Julia ensemble in a 3D environment. One of the four parameters could be set as a constant and the other three could form a 3D scalar field represented with equipotential surfaces or density clouds. Then the constant could be modified to obtain 3D layers to obtain a 4D view in a 3D+t. Greeds!!

pretty much exactly the idea I’ve followed for my implementation, not a density cloud in my case because I was to stupid to write that up, but I’ve created the border using a signed distance function, creating a 3D slice of the set and then varied the fourth parameter in time. But varying only one parameter doesn’t loop nicely and i’m a sucker for aesthetics so I varied two forming a circle in parameter space, giving a nice animation loop :)

the nebulabar would make an amazing album cover

Agreed! I started making fractals because I needed a cover for a song of mine, by now I’d probably have to record hundreds of albums to use up all my images 🫠

btw, dont worry about the naming of the Buddhabrot. Buddha get's it 😉 It's not like 'the others' 😆
