At 12:30 is presented an explanation of 'traversing the fundamental fantasy' in such a way that makes sense to me; there seems to be an element of utility by how it is presented.. Thanks for another enlightening lecture.

Great to hear this. I read today a german study of the nazis influence of hinduism and one topic was Bewusstsmanipulation(Consciousness Manipulation). Was very confused and interested. Great to hear from you now!!

I got into philosophy through Wittgenstein and didn't know any other philosophers for a long time. In the meantime, I've been listening to what else is out there, but I'm never sure whether Wittgenstein isn't already a step ahead. On the subject of this video, he would probably find that it is the form of life and its rules - in language games - that shape our consciousness and actions. Whether we know it or not. At best, philosophy can track or re-enact the rules of a way of life. Applying them gives us competence and thus the feeling of being able to do something. And all the more so, the more difficult it was to learn them.

Good observation! I was at a roadtrip here in norway this summer, and randomly in the strangest little place came across what was appearantly Wittgensteins house in Norway! I was introduced to him through studying philosophy a few years before.

Old boy is cool, just some historic context- the premise is really very old - one “modern” iteration (“modern” as opposed to from Antiquity) is Life is dream or in its original Spanish title La vida es sueño by Calderon de La Barca - written back in 1635 - but the inspiration for this plot is much order still - usually the back story is that a man is imprisoned BECAUSE of a profecy that states he will wreck havoc - when finally freed he plays out the profecy (through his need for revenge) - his freedom ends up chaining him to his destiny - in La Barcas version however he is freed through his ability to forgive(being a Christian text, of course).

Freedom isn't free It costs folks like you and me And if we don't all chip in We'll never pay that bill Freedom isn't free No, there's a hefty fuckin' fee And if you don't throw in your buck 'o five Who will? - Team Hegelia (fuck yeah!!!) Is it too low-brow to analyze Team America: World Police through a Hegelian lens? I feel like that song definitely nails some of the points around the 10-13 minute mark (especially the 11:30 mark about the Master Manipulator). Perhaps it would be most useful at understanding the rich American tradition (certainly from 2001-2015 (2024?)) of lampooning its internal incongruencies, and yet seemingly becoming ever more unironically committed to the achievement of its ideals. I would say that this committment has already started to crumble, but hey, who am I to say.

Our problem as westerners is that we categories things outside their environmental contexts.. Its simply not acceptable to hold people accountable for their actions if they are in fact reactions to an environment beyond their control.. We must overcome the rule of law in seizing the environment for reallocation

When man takes a pet the pet becomes his master lest he betray his initial idea.

Yes, that's why I don't have pets. But unfortunately this applies to modern gadgets as well. You have to load the battery ALL THE TIME, and update this and that and get applications etc. I tried to minimize this, so I don't have a smartphone. It is becoming more and more difficult to live without one, though. Shitty world!
