Even if the circumstances behind it were Dicey, This fight was absolutely awesome!! The design of Surturs whispy flame form is so cool. the last way you'd expect either of these two to fight would be with sick wrestling moves but it works so well! It's also interesting to see this act of vengence ring somewhat hollow on Beta ray bills face. Not sure if they already explained it, but perhaps he's upset his main motive was more to get the sword than for the sake of justice?

I'm not sure either, at the end or the series Bill looks into the mirror and his reflection is his transformed version. Maybe he knows the transformation isn't what he's looking for or something. Or maybe despite vengeance he feels melancholy from the horror he experienced . Hard to say!

So this is where I usually pick things apart because Surt shouldn't lose a 1v1 to Bill even if Bill is one of my absolute favorites. Truth is this fight was amazing. It was a metal album cover in fight form. It reminded me of Bill's fight with Stardust and Astaroth in Stormbreaker. Bill can go so hard. Loved it.

Although Marvel ranks Surtur higher on their power chart, I think it is contextual. During Ragnarok, Surtur is more than a being; he's The End; he's destruction and can't be stopped. Otherwise, I'm sure the writers could give a reason why some schlub could rock him.
