@@michaelc643 A tree gave its life for that "wood is wood" just like animals give their lives for any piece of meat you eat. Learn respect for all life.

Thank you. After this, now I don't need to watch any more table-making videos. Nothing can beat this one. Absolutely stunning.

Me too, I wonder if ringing ears are considered high status or if they are impervious to hearing damage.

I’ll bet Cam from Black Tail Studio is licking his chops looking at this magnificent wood. Here in the U.S. we think of Japan as a densely populated country with little forested areas. That would be wrong. In the mid-80s to early-90s I made about 20 trips to Japan. My first trip, to Hiroshima, was the longest, about 7 weeks. The city is crowed, with homes built almost to the streets. And regardless of your economic status, the size of your car is determined by the size of your parking space. To purchase a car you must prove you have parking space for that size vehicle. Drive 20 minutes north of the city and you’re out in the country. Fields, rolling hills, and forest for kilometers on end.

The tops are beautiful. But do they just float in the air? Why no legs, supports? Just as important as the top. Otherwise, some idiot may put metal "hairpin" legs on and completely ruin the work done on the beautiful top.
